Looks like a shoulder, he's left the field with his right arm in a sling. Definitely not how OU fans wanted to start the year.

In a perfect world he's fine but gets an injury rep and slips to us now. ;D

Would do great with this offense. If we would have kept our pick and traded Chicago's we could be in a position to get him without him slipping. It did look a lot like how Brady fell on his shoulder, and Brady is seemingly ok now. Hopefully Sam is fine. I am not an OU fan, but I never like seeing people get hurt

Wow...that would be nice for him to fall..but I doubt it.

Thought it was a mistake for him to come back after winning a Heismann and losing virtually his entire line. Hope the injury is minor.

OU O-line has sucked from the whistle. I had a feeling he may get planted the way they were getting shots on him. I hope its not to severe. I wouldnt mind seeing him in a Bronco uniform next year.

Not for nothing but the O-line hasnt done poorly. Bradford is holding the ball too long.

Sprain of AC joint in right throwing arm. Wont be back today. Typically out a couple of weeks.

so, hypothetically, if hes out for the year, where does he fall in the draft?

F'ing guy led the Buffs all the way down the aisle before marrying Hick-lahoma at the altar.

He's not out for the year. At most it will be two weeks.

Did you see the back up just get planted by a rusher that got a free pass to the qb ? Not to mention # 70 got back to back to back penalties in their first drive. Their line shouldbe better than that. I do agree that Bradford did hold on to the ball too long when he got injured.

Yeah, I saw Pendelton before the snap and saw him coming. I dont know that a brand new O-line should be able to figure out confusing rushes in the first game of the season though.

Im no OU fan dont get me wrong, but that was just a good rush by BYU. In fact both on the backup getting planted and when Bradford got injured it was just a good rush. Confused a young O-line.

BYU is playing fantastic defense in this game too. Stuffing the run and putting more pressure on the passing game.

No wonder the score was so close. With him out BYU damn well better win or we'll be laughing our asses off at them.

GO UTES!

No, Bradford went down right before the half ended and it was 10-7 when he went down. BYU played well but now it looks like their defense is getting tired.

O Rise and Shout, the Cougars are out
Along the trail to fame and glory.
Rise and shout, our cheers will ring out,
As you unfold your vict'ry story.
On you go to vanquish the foe
For Alma Mater's sons and daughters.
As we join in song, in praise of you, our faith is strong.
We'll raise our colors high in the blue,
And cheer the Cougars of BYU.

I hate making excuses on why my team loses, but no freakin way do the Sooners only score 3 points in the second half with Sam Bradford at QB.
That said, the OL did a terrible job for the Sooners as well. So many penalties and missed assignments, hopefully they shore up.

If Sam is okay, I think OU can still "salvage" this season. However, I'm skeptical about that happening.

Side note, how cool would it be to draft Geral McCoy?

rotator cuff tear is horrible. i seriously dont understand why these guys stay in college if they are a top 10 lock. the only positive to come from it is the increased pay to top picks each year. their play can reduce, other plays can show up and drop their draft status, they can get injured. sucks.

Rock Chalk

IF it is a rotator cuff tear, try 4 or 5 losses.

Miami, UT, OSU, KU for sure.

I saw that. I wouldn't call myself a UNM fan by any means, truly I don't care if they win or lose. But living in Albuquerque, all I hear about is Lobo football and the mountain west. The Bradford injury might taint the win a bit, but I'd have to imagine that if BYU were to run the table, with a win over #3 Oklahoma, they'd have to crash the BCS pretty hard. That would certainly be interesting. The knock on MWC schools is they don't play anybody. Again, the injury will give everybody that "Yeah but..." excuse, but I now hope BYU runs the table just to stir up controversy and such.

at the farthest, he would drop to the bottom of the top 10.

and for those bitching we gave away a pick that would have assured us of getting him, you are all wrong. Denver will pick later than Chicago. we kept the better of the 2 picks.

I guess not everybody can open the season against Louisiana-Monroe :oyvey:

I think if Bradford misses the season, OU has a 9-3 season, possibly 10-2 depending on how Landry Jones develops. No way do they beat Texas without Bradford, unless McCoy goes down for Texas.

PS, if he misses the year, he isn't going to enter the NFL draft.

TexanBob
09-06-2009, 02:41 PM
If Bradford misses the whole season, he *ought* to redshirt and come back in 2010. At this point, I'm expecting him back in three weeks so he doesn't miss any important games. But if the shoulder isn't completely healed, he may have a hard time protecting it.

You just answered your own question. They scored more points with Sam in the first half than without him in the second.

And do people not understand he is a redshirt junior and still has another year of elgibility?
