so do we make a move for him, or sit with what we got? I personally don't think he would be worth the money, do we have to take on his contract, and what is he getting paid this year?

Your thoughts.......

He's the worst QB in the NFL. I swear to god, I don't know how he got a starting gig.

I haven't seen a whole lot of him, but I would say it is possible he is the worst starting qb in the league...well next to that one guy in chicago:wiggle:

I don't think he is great but I dont think he is as bad as you claim here. I think he is much better then Jason Campbell and Shaun Hill, . Early in the year he wasn't doing well but his December play proves that he isn't the worst QB in the NFL.

McD is married to Orton, no way he look at him.

I know he can make things happen with his feet, but he can't throw on the run which is kinda a catch22.

You guys are just racist...lol

We have enough half ass qbs on the team as it stands.

Then clearly he belongs here. We're collecting them.

McD's offense relies on timing and accuracy. Jackson has neither, and we already have Orton for that role.

No thank you.

Also, Campbell is significantly better than Tavaris Jackson. Significantly.

Is there a QB who gets cut/shopped that we won't hear this question asked?

I have never really watched him much but have read he was the reason they weren't going all the way right?

I did hear though his contract is team friendly.

Nah. Out of the legitimate possibilities, Derek Anderson is the only one I'd consider trading for.

no way, Orton's finger is almost healed so he will soon be able to make all those difficult throws he has made so far this pre-season.

BTW, my dad is a viking fan and he always hated "Bret Far".....until now.

If you would have asked that 9 months ago...you would have been banned for being an idiot (that is saying something on this Mane).

Now it is still no....just not as emphatically.

Just wait...Who knows what a couple more months might bring.

Your thoughts.......

He's not a starting qb. All he can do is bolt and run, and hit a receiver once in awhile. Although he got jobbed along with Sage when Favrey arrived. For that reason alone I now hope the vikings go 4-12.

C'mon, dude. Orton hasn't shown anything in his pro career to indicate he's the best... or worst QB out there. In fact, he's done more good than bad to this stage.

Simms/Orton aren't anywhere near the worst QBs out there. Are they starting material? Maybe, maybe not. But, they're a hell of a lot more inspiring than Jackson.

I was shocked Minnesota didn't make a play for Cutler. As big of a douche as he is... they're so close to being SB competitors, it might have been worth the gamble.

If you ignore his current TD/INT ratio.

Only if we are able to get a 1st for Marshall that we can then trade away.

I'd rather have him as a back up than Simms.

Jackson has flashes of brilliance surrounded by inconsistency. He's frustrating to watch because it seems that if the light ever came on for good he'd be a hell of a QB.

I think he's a high ceiling, high risk guy that I wouldn't mind having as a back up. You could use him from the wildcat until he (hopefully) completely develops.

Tito Jackson is better that Tavaris...

footstepsfrom#27
09-04-2009, 10:19 AM
Jackson's not that bad. He had 9 TD's and only 2 INT's last year with 7.1 yards per pass and a 95.4 QB rating with a 5.6 ypc rushing average. Thats in 5 starts....and those are pretty respectable numbers. I don't really think he's a starter, but he's better than a lot of NFL backups, including the one we had last year. I don't know if he could play in this system, probably not...but he can play somewhere in the right offense.
