Considering cu was up 32 at one point, to get the lead down to 12 was impressive. At that point, NU was moving the ball. Just one freaking D stop, and you know the cu fans would have been worried.

Actually it's all yuppiefied now. Boulderites have moved to Nederland and Ward, Co.

My most lengthy memory of Boulder was visting my brother there when I was 15 and drinking 3 or 4 beers for the first time in my life. At 11:00 we threw some packaged frozen cauliflower in cheezy sauce in the microwave because for some reason it looked good. At approximately 11:20 pm the room started to spin. By 11:30 it was the whole house. At 11:31 it rained cheezyflower upon the city of Boulder. In buckets. For about an hour. Followed by thunderous dry heaves for the next 4 hours. Women and small children panicked and several ufo sightings were reported that night. Being a future CSU alum this was my gift to the city. !Booya!

That ladies and gentlemen was my introduction to drinking and hangovers. :TJnPopps:

1. McBroncoSchmuck - Buffalo do not exist anymore, just Bison and they are Delicious.... oh and gayer than most animals.

FACT:
Homosexual mounting between bison males tends to be more common than heterosexual female-male copulation among American bison, especially because females only mate with the bulls about once a year. During mating season, males engage in same-sex activities several times a day. More than 55 percent of mounting in young males is with the same gender.

Dude - it makes no sense to me how the CSU fans can hardly be found year round. Last year I tried to get a Mtn. West thread going mostly to shoot the **** with CSUers, but low and behold nobody was really on it.

I think that good things can happen for CSU if the fans get on the same page as the team all the time. But then again, maybe being in a BCS division would help too.

Either way, the BCS blows.

I think that is what you get when the program puts so much emphasis a nonconference game that is usually the first game of the season. Most CSU fans just wanted to beat CU and if it doesn't happen it is a huge let down. I think you will see more casual fans following the local teams throughout the year just for a distraction from the Broncos if nothing else.

But its been that way even before the 1999 year when most fans "knew" that CSU couldn't compete with CU. You get huge homegame turnouts every year, but not for every single game - but WYO and Air Force and Utah and BYU always bring the Rammies home... I think just being tucked away up north further from the Denver Media keeps CSU on everyone's back burner rather than at the forefront for college sport media.

http://www.denverpost.com/csu/ci_13266223

Some Colorado State University students are boycotting one of the most popular football games in the state — the Rocky Mountain Showdown between CSU and the University of Colorado.
They're angry about the change in venue from Invesco Field at Mile High in Denver to Folsom Field in Boulder, home of their rivals.
They say the tickets cost too much, the seats are bad, and they'd be just a 3,000 Ram-fan minority in a sea of black and gold.

I agree for the most part. But the fact remains the same. The talent level of the football players is about the same. CU really hasn't had a very good program, by their own standards, and their fan's standards since the bible thumper Bill McCartney left. It's only the new regime who is finally starting to turn the CU program back around. Nepotism and all.

Saw that this morning.

It's at Folsom. That is not your home stadium. It is not at a neutral site like Invesco. You are the vistors. Therefore you sit in the visiting section and pay visiting team prices for tickets.

Even for CSEwe students, that shouldn't be too hard to understand.

University of california at Boulder refers to 85% of the players at CU being imports from California. That may or may not be true anymore, more recently: to my best recollection CSU won their bowl game last year. How did CU do? :spit:

CU has more players from Colorado than CSU these days. 49 for CU and 37 for CSU.

CU would have went to a bowl game had they played CSU's schedule last year too and CSU would have won maybe 3 games playing CU's schedule last year. The fact that CU beat CSU by 21 points should tell you the Buffs were the better team last year. You guys can revel in your New Mexico Bowl win. That's such a prestigious bowl game.

Wins form last year and record of opposing team:

CU:

CSU (7-6)
Eastern Washington (6-5 D1-AA)
West Virginia (9-4)
Kansas State (5-7)
Iowa State (2-10)

CSU:

Sacramento State (6-6 D1-AA)
Houston (8-5)
UNLV (5-7)
San Diego State (2-10)
New Mexico (4-8)
Wyoming (4-8)
Fresno State (7-6)

I see a 9 win BCS conference team on CU's win list in addition to CSU. CSU's mostly looks like bottom feeders of the MWC. CSU didn't beat anyone worth a crap last season. The Rams lost to every good team they played last season.

With higher SAT scores than are found in Ft. Collins.

Dude do your friggin research before posting your stupidity. The average SAT Score and GPA for admission at both schools is nearly identical. Slightly higher SATs at CSU and slightly higher GPA at CU... but the differences are negligible. Another arrogant CU idiot. That's the reason that people get burned out with you CU idiots.

But CU consistently has one of the highest Douche Bag Factors (DBF) of any college.

Look at the scores of the games we lost though, at least we lost games against good teams by less than a TD, unlike your 0-58 against a so-so missouri team.

If the rocky mountain showdown had been at the end of last year, I have no doubt you guys would have lost, just like you did last night in your own house. How does that feel?

Wow you are an idiot.

Those links you provide pretty much prove the other dude's point. the differences between SAT and ACT scores are negligible at best. 1 more question right effectively, in each test. Both schools are in the 25th to 27th percentile.

CU is a significantly better academic school that CSU.

Admission standards are not, repeat NOT, a good way to judge. Colorado is consistently ranked highly, sometimes even in the Top 30 best public universities in the country. CSU does not show up in any such rankings that I'm aware of anyway.

CSU has just one very highly rated program, I think it's their veterinary program.

Yes I did some checking on this too ****tard.

Turns out, CU is ranked highly due to some large donors dedicated to research but has nothing to do with the actual academics of the school.

Student by student, CSU alumni score nearly the same as CU alumni do.

Alumni have nothing to do with what I'm talking about anyway.

CU does have some world class programs. Not the ones I was in mind you, but they do have programs that students come from all over the world to enroll in. National Oceanic and Space is there, some other VERY big science programs, the NIST clock and other stuff is there, and they're tied to some degree programs

Regarding admission standards, I know a little something about that, and they vary from school to school within a university. CU is well known for admitting students into their general undergraduate program, but then narrowing admission standards for different programs. I never did get into the journalism school, the broadcasting degree was offered separately (and I transferred to CU-Denver anyway).

Also, state schools have economic concerns ... out-of-state tuitions are a good revenue stream, and CU was known for favoring out of state applicants, at least in the 80s. Back then, just having the SAT and grades requirements did not guarantee admission, they lowered the requirements a bit and set aside a bloc of seats for more lucrative out-of-state students. Colorado later instituted what other states have - near-mandatory acceptance of in-state applicants who meet published SAT and grades requirements.

Wow, I'm being called an idiot by someone who not only lacks reading comprehension, but who also apparently doesn't understand percentiles.

The fact is, the SAT (and ACT) scores of students admitted to CU are higher than at CSU. You claim the difference is negligible, which is not surprising considering that your school is the one on the short end.....

Nearly every CSU grad I've ever met carries an inferiority complex over CU vs CSU. It's fun yanking your chains.
