They may not have been on speaking terms, but the article makes it clear that it was Brandon reaching out this time.

As long as we can stop talking about it, fine.

If all this is true, is it likely he'll play in the opener?

Marshall asking for help from Rod Smith is like Vick asking for help from Tony Dungy.

Definitely good news if true.

I doubt it hes not in game shape and has seen no practice time.

Let's hope so. Marshall prob got tired of the 'old man's' talking about honor and pride ect and it lead to Marshall's latest BS. Now he realizes (hopefully) he messed up and is looking to get it all together.
I love Rod smith. Get this guy on the team as a mentor.

Marshall was also being mentored by Chris Carter before the 2006 draft. That didn't seem to work either.

Knowledge of the playbook?

Colquitt was released so BM can be the punter until the playbook becomes second nature.

Please lets this be true! How sh*tty was it watching Cutler kick our faces.

Do we really want another ex-Bronco kicking our face, making us wish we still had that? I don't care what anyone says, Cutler made McD look like an effing idiot last week, Marshall will do the same thing... (off the field issues aside, I don't give a rats @ss about anyone's personal life, I pay & watch to be entertained!)

Bowlen, take the money you get from raping your fanbase, and pay the mothereffer!

"Also, I'm told Marshall is starting to see the light. (I know, I know, we've heard this before). But this is different. Earlier this week, Marshall extended an olive branch to Rod Smith. He's seeking Rod's help again. He's actually listening this time. Rod and Brandon have been working out together this week, working on the body AND the mind. That's great news for B-Marsh. He needs guidance in his life. And nobody can fill that role better than Rod Smith."

Man, I miss Rod Smith.

One 98 yard drive and that was kicking us in the face? Up until that point in the game, he had 1 drive that led to a field goal and the easy 6 setup by the Hester return. Everything other drive resulted in a punt.

He certainly didnt have a bad a game but it wasn't something that was dominating.

Not to mention that 98 yard drive should have ended with a pick on the bears ~15 yard line when he hit our DB right in the hands. But our DBs are Jerry Kids when it comes to turnovers.

Chris Carter while he's improved isn't the rock of humility that Rod is. Chris strikes me as a guy that would preach, "make you your money" as much as he would the work ethic aspects of the gaem...

This doesn't mean he hasn't been working out...we don't know for sure but my gut instinct is that he has been working out! If we did trade him, it wouldn't be a good idea to show up out of shape. Obviously we are not going to do that!

Yeah you need to calm the **** down. All you had to do was stfu, ignore his comment and not be an attention whore. But instead you responded with your new found asterisk style of posting and your thread is doomed to be off topic now. Simple OMane rules. Which is ironic seeing as how you see yourself as a connoisseur of OMane trends...

Nothing but good things can happen if he is indeed using Rod as a mentor. Rod will give him the tough love he desperately needs.

He needs someone to put his arm around him, tell him he loves him, then tell him to grow-the- ****-up! Rod will do that.

i agree...but i will say one thing...

my guess is it shell shocked him pretty good seeing how he's tarnished his image with those practice clips...he's getting bashed in the national and local public so badly it's ridiculous...

he turned a nationally criticized villain into a sympathetic figure with just a 10 second clip...

i mean, whens the last time a player did something so frowned upon that EVERY media outlet, coach, player, ex-player, fan, and even TEAMMATE have zero support of his actions?...

Marshall asking for help from Rod Smith is like Vick asking for help from Tony Dungy.

Definitely good news if true.

only difference is will Marshall heed the advice like Vick did. Vick has shown actual remorse and isn't expecting things to be easy for him. I still get the feeling Marshall will do and say all the right things for a little while in hopes of either getting his trade or a new deal, and if neither of those happen right away, the clown act will resume.
