Ok... lets play this game.. The last 2 years in preseason the defense couldn't stop the run or pass. and they couldn't get off the field on 3rd down. Guess what happened during the season?

Another 1. Last year our offense looked like it would gain a lot of yardage. Cutler was throwing the football all over the field. Guess what happened during the regular season?

I got another!!! Our special teams play showed we still couldn't stop them from getting past the 30 yard line on kickoffs, our punt return units were giving up chunks of yardage. Guess what happened during the regular season?

true. but you also haev to look at the change of coaches and change of scheme and what they actually use preseason for. does mcdaniels use it as a semi-gameplan or as an extended practice to work on stuff that isnt working well?

13. Safeties 15+ yards out of position.

i hated that so much. i remember one of the last games of the season, Barrett was finally starting and we had him lined up literally 20-30 yards off the LOS. it looked like he was waiting to receive a punt he was so far off the ball.
i am so glad Slowik is gone, and for that matter, glad Mike is gone too, his stupidity is what would have led to Slowik remaining here.

I think it's a GREAT idea to throw the ball on third and one for two reasons: if you run, they're looking for the run, and you're likely to get a 4th down. Second, it streches the defense to thbe point where they wont know what to expect on 3rd and 1 - if they read run, we pass. Imagine a D constantly coming out in the 4-3 with their safeties off the line on 3rd and 1 - that way we can run when the game is on the line, or run a play action streak.

No, even before McD was hired, he said that he was going to become the new Telluride if that happened. That he absolutely would NOT support that decision, cause it proved that Bowlen was just getting rid of Shanny, not doing what was best for the team (in HIS opinion). Of course it was Bowlen that made the decision , but Lex hasn't bothered to make that distinction. McD is evil by default, since HE replaced Shanahan.

And he has been true to his word. He is rivalling Telluride in his single mindedness.

5 is present because interior oline not getting push for the third and short, and i dont think we have a RB (besides hillis) who will do what it takes to get the inches needed.

True enough about the O-line, I can't see any way Hamilton gets resigned after this season.

We'll look to get much bigger at LG and C in the next couple of years.

I think Moreno runs plenty hard enough to get the short yardage stuff, but when a defense knows its coming we just don't have the interior O-Line to power people back and pick up 3rd & 1.

It's a big reason we've left some points out there in the redzone, too. The first drive against Oaklnad comes to mind.
