Just curious to see how people feel on this given some of his struggles. It hasnt been all bad but in the end, its been 1 TD and a lot of INTs. A couple of the other QBs have looked decent albeit against lesser competition (in theory). So, do you think Orton would be the starter if, say, he was acquired via FA like Simms and not in a trade for Cutler?

It might be more even footing between Orton and Simms.

If the only options are Orton, Simms, and Brandstater... Then yes Orton is the best of that bunch.

God help us...

We should have signed Jeff Garcia when we had the chance. A smart veteran like him is exactly what this offense needed.

Simms is the better overall QB, I've seen it in Camp, see it in preseason.

Orton just cannot complete drives. 1 TD and 4 ints and the Broncos offense has scored 13 points total under Orton in three preseason games. I really hope McD can figure out someway to get some points on the board. Because unlike Chicago, our D isn't going to generate turnovers and/or protect a small lead.

How hard is it really to find a QB to throw a screen pass. Its clear that the QB goes from the 3rd option, to the second option, then dumps the ball to the intended 1st option in the first place.

He's be starting in Chicago for sure.
