Update:

The Denver Post is now reporting he should be out 1-2 weeks and be back for the final pre-season game:
An MRI on Knowshon Moreno’s injured left knee gave the Broncos reason to exhale. Moreno has a slight sprain of the medial collateral ligament, according to NFL sources. The initial diagnosis was Moreno would be sidelined for one to two weeks, meaning he could be cleared to play at least in time for the final preseason game Sept. 3 against Arizona.

PFT is reporting a sprained MCL, grade of sprain unkown, but not considered serious.

I'll be checking the board every 5 minutes until we get something definitive. I can't help myself.

Relatively good news, but unfortunately it will set him even farther behind.

Hopefully they will keep him out the rest of the preseason and let him work slowly back into the rotation.

I think we can make do with the guys we have for the 1st couple of games.

They should have pulled the guy when he limped back to the huddle.

Good news. He looked good in his couple carries. With Hillis and Moreno toting the rock Denvers run offense should be pretty good.

So with theraphy, antiflamatory drugs and Rest and Ice Knowshon will be out 2-3 weeks. I really wished he wasn't thrown in so soon. He needed to get in game shape and get used to hitting again.

But it could have been worse. Maybe with a brace he could work in walk throughs and learn the playbook.

Yep, McD should have pulled him out immediately. Not sure what McD's logic was behind leaving him in...

Wait aren't sprains and strains too different things. Just confused don't strains happen to muscle tissue and sprains to ligaments and connective tissue.

Perhaps its normal for vets to ask to come out and theyre relying on that. The only problem is, he's not a vet and they should have pulled him right away. You cant help but wonder how much more serious it was because he remained in the game.

Never mind i read the article they should just let him rehab for a couple of weeks.

Moreno will be monitored carefully and he will likely miss some time as a precaution. But at this point, he should be ready for the Broncos' Sept. 13 season opener at Cincinnati will be affected.

I wonder if anyone proofs his stuff.

Yea, typo on my part. It's sprain, although they haven't announced if it is a grade 1 or 2 yet.

What do you mean its GREAT news, compared to what it could have been!

He'll be ready for the season. Yes he misses some more valuable time but he is there and going through all the mental reps and will be good rehab. They said it was a very slight strain and the MCL, not ACL so he'll be okay.

They just need do not rush him back wait till his 100%

The one fear I had when I heard he was going to play after holding out and had only 5 practices was some kind of injury or muscle pull.

How often t hat happens when a guy holds out for a while comes back and quickly get s injured. They just need to be smart with both Moreno and Marshall working them both back in and by the first few games of the regular season we should be well stocked on offense.

Rejoice people this is good news!

the mcl has good blood supply and can heal on its own unlike the ACL.

he will be fine.

Wow this could of been so much worse. A MCL sprain isn't a good thing for a running back, but at least he'll be ready to go for week 1, 2009, not week 1, 2010...
