Broncos Sign RB Marcus Thomas
http://blogs.denverpost.com/broncos/2009/08/12/broncos-another-marcus-thomas/

With LaMont Jordan still out with a leg injury, the Broncos signed former University of Texas-El Paso running back Marcus Thomas, who was at practice Wednesday.

The Broncos’ other Marcus Thomas has started 20 consecutive games at defensive tackle.

The tailback Thomas was a fifth-round draft pick of the San Diego Chargers last year.

This guy has been waived 4 times by 4 teams in the past year (including the Detroit Lions). Sounds like a stud! Hopefully he doesn't have the narcotics predilections of the other Denver Marcus Thomas.

Vick rushed for 1000 yards once just saying ;D

Can he do a backflip?

Vick did rush for a thousand yards,, just sayin. If I were a coach somewhere, I'd bring in Vick to be a "Reggie Bush" type back, however at any point he can bomb it down the field 70 yards.

Just sayin.

I still don't like him for the record and don't want him on our team.

I think this is the 2009 version of "he will break off 2k in our system"

Isn't there someone out there that at least has a tenth of a percent of making a impact for the team out there?

Right but McD would never sign him because this offense requires the runningback to have a decent set of hands and his hands are pretty bad.

I thought he played well enough in the game to make the team this year until McD was hired and he requires the RB's to catch the football.

Well I know that he doesn't care if they can run or not otherwise Jordan wouldn't be on the team. :)

Check out what Cecil and Sigmund thought of Thomas a year ago:

I had actually thought that Thomas was going to emerge and become a good player for SD...was very surprised when they cut him. I don't know what has worked against him being able to stick...I thought he would also be productive in Detroit behind Kevin Smith. But it never happened...probably won't here either

Anyone rememeber the carry that would have been his 1st NFL TD vs KFC?

He broke into the open field with no one around him and looked back over his shoulder and dropped the ball and could not recover it.

I'll say this for the guy... he runs REALLY hard!

He doesn't have any 'wiggle' to speak of, but if he has a good line in front of him he can do some damage. Not "every down back" material, though.

picked up by the Redskins off of waivers when we cut him.

i was pretty bummed about it at the time, but recently I read he's been struggling with fumbles.
