The New York Ripper
Freeway
Hard Candy
Bubba Ho-Tep
The Experiment
Fido

SLC Punk
Zero Day
The Boys From Brazil

Here are movies you should have seen but if you didn't you need to watch them

Mrs. Bean would likely divorce me if a movie with that title arrived in my next Netflix pouch.

As far as the Bruce Campbell stuff, I love Bruce, but I saw his directorial self parody, His Name is Bruce or something, a little too cheesy, a little too like those very bad Elivra feature films (I mean the ones she was actually in, not the ones she showed). Bubba Ho Tep I do love...funny, but a little embarrassing because I brought my parents because my dad is an afficionado of all things silly (loves Attack of the Killer Tomatoes and a movie called Flesh Gordon) but all the penis references made me kind of want to make my mom leave..it's just a little weird.

Off the top of my head, I really liked Tremors (the first one) and Slither which were both kind of homages to B movie horror.

Probably has a lot to do with my dislike for Reese Witherspoon. The only film i liked her in was SFW and Cruel Intentions.

Oh, and it may not really be a classic perse but check out Russell Crow in the early 90's movie Romper Stomper. ;)

Not sure if Robert Redford directed it or not, but it's got an all star cast, interesting plot, great comedy, little bit of suspense...classic imo.

I liked the Boys from Brazil. Jeremiah Johnson is one of my all time favorite movies.

Formula 51 is a great movie.
Brotherhood of the Wolf is awesome.
Dog Soldiers is good.
13th Warrior is definitely a smart movie.
Hotel Rwanda is a must see movie.

Little seen? I haven't seen these in awhile so I am just guessing that they still have substance. I cannot think of the really good ones right now.

Silent Running (old Bruce Dern)
Harold and Maude (Goofy movie)
12 Monkeys (Brad Pitt)
Memento (Kind of like Butterfly effect messing with perceptions of time)
Black Pirate - Douglas Fairbanks - B&W 1929
Appaloosa (Should have been big as Forgiven but wasn't)
The man who shot Liberty Valance (John Wayne)

I think Brad Pitt is my favorite film star. He replaced Redford when he did 12 monkeys and there is nothing he's been in that I did not like. Clint Eastwood is another one but I cannot think of anything that he was in that people don't all know about. I am sure if I looked on up.

I have seen everything from "Birth of a Nation" (Griffith) to Zoolander. I tell people I don't watch that many movies but I guess I actually do.

Session 9 -creepy little independant type horror movie
Trainspotting - I friggin love this flick
Trees lounge - Steve Buscemi is such a loser in this movie but you can't help but like him
Second Hand Lions - One of the best family movies I have ever seen. The scene where Duvalls character tells the boys in the cafe who he is will give you goosebumps. "I have killed many men, and loved only one woman!" Duvall is the coolest.
The Weather Man - Cringe Humor at its finest. If you don't squirm during the camel toe explanation scene, something is wrong with you.
The Big Lebowski - Only the greatest movie ever made.

Some of my favorites that aren't well-known, particularly by younger audiences:

"Being There" (Peter Sellers)
"Switchback" (Dennis Quaid)
"Fail Safe" (Henry Fonda)
"The Idolmaker" (Ray Sharkey)

and two with football angles to them:

"Everybody's All American" (Dennis Quaid). Screenplay by SI writer Frank Deford has a brief sequence when Quaid's character joins the Denver Broncos and is spliced into scenes of that great 1978 win over New England in the snow at Mile High.

"The Fortune Cookie" (Jack Lemmon). Walter Matthau steals the show as a scheming tort lawyer brother-in-law but there are scenes of Lemmon on the sidelines of a Cleveland Browns game with a young Keith Jackson playing the tv announcer.

Big Lebowski has some awesome lines in it.

I am surprised only one person has named an anime classics. I think Ghost in the shell should be included as an Anime cornerstone film. If you have never seen anime Akira and Princess Monoke are among the finest.

Nobody's Fool--Paul Newman was great in this and a great shot of Melanie Griffn's tata's

The September Tapes--Not safe to watch in HD w/surround if you have PTSD (not me, just say'n) they shot live tracer rounds at the camera because they couldn't afford CG

I saw failsafe. Kudos to the guy who posted that. The still sequenec during the bombing was haunting and I watched it 40 years after it was made

I saw "Fail Safe" for the first time when it was being shown at 2 a.m. on WGN one night and I thought "this is a lot better than the typical middle-of-the-night movie." Interesting to see small parts by Walter Matthau and Dom DeLuise before they became famous comedians. Larry Hagman also gets a supporting role before his breakout on "I Dream Of Jeannie".

It's a bit dated now because the Cold War is over but it is definitely a top drama.

I just watched a pretty great movie. Called Love and Sex 101.

It's about a man that is about to get married and he recieves a list of all the women he has had sex with and all the women he'll ever have sex with. His wife to be is #29 on a list of 101 women.

It's a great date movie and has some very nice turns to it.

Wow, Slinky those are some great movies. I have Dead Man, A Tale of Two Sister and Fraility, and I have added the rest to my queue. Thanks!!!

I looked up 11:14 and saw it looked awesome so I went to netflix to add it and I already had it in my queue. I bumped it to #3!

Anybody heard/seen a movie called Bronson? I was watching that Ultimate HD Trailer show, and saw a preview for it....

Looks like a really cool flick.

Anybody?

Another movie I thought of that I love. It's not an unknown, but you either love it or hate it.
