Couldn't possibly be real. If he was off an inch he'd be toast.

Does anyone care to present a theory as to exactly how this could have been faked?

Some kick-ass editing. Like this suicide jump...

Not to mention that the pool looks like it's about 3-4 feet deep and he's falling from what...maybe 30 feet above it? He'd hit that water and break his neck hitting the bottom even if he could be certain of making the water.

Fake.

There's a section where we can't see the guy. That's your first clue. The next clue is just to watch his trajectory. He almost rises up part way through his "flight." There's an unnatural bump upward about half way through. I'm guess guessing here, but he would have landed much earlier if this were real.

Then there's the "how do you practice this" question.

Entertaining, but definitely trickery.

The slope of the slide on the front side doesn't look nearly steep enough to even come close to generating the kind of speed it would take to generate enough lift to achieve that distance.

Oh yea, and someone pointed out... there's a dummy laying behind the ramp at .08.

They might have moved that, for all the work they did.

Rohirrim

I'm guessing they had a guy in the pool and just kept firing dummies until one of them hit the water.

ZONA

Yup, the first thing I thought was after watching him slide down the hill that he was moving way too slow to be thrown off the ramp at that speed. 2 guys throw a bucket of water each and that was it. For that much material, you would have to have a constant stream of water. Way too much friction for that guy to build that kinda of speed at the ramp.

FAKE

Its just a simple video edit, on a straight gray sky its not very hard.

Nothing actually landed in the pool from that distance, the pool is an inflatable kiddie pool and it didn't even wiggle after contact. That denies all laws of matter displacement.

Congrats to them, they successfully pirated 3D Studio Max or Maya and learned to use it with some marginal proficiency. Probably grabbed Final Cut Pro while they where at it.

That's what I was thinking about it. Those slip n slides have to be very wet as hitting a dry spot can stop you and they didn't put a lot of water on it too.

Does anyone care to present a theory as to exactly how this could have been faked?

That's pretty easy...

They used a dummy at the start, which was probably colored green/blue (they can make it black w/e for the video though).

They launched it down the slide, when it came to going airborne they wiped it out and replaced it with a pre-recorded actor who was laying down in front of a green/blue screen flailing all about.

These things are done an a separate layer which are imposed onto the video the camera made. (basically in the real video there is nothing in the air yada yada, it's just following what will be there).

... then they had the guy in the pool already waiting...

People could make something like this pretty easily with nothing but a green screen and sony vegas.

So yeah... don't grasp how anyone can even remotely believe this is real in this day and age.

This vid is no different than the suicide one posted above or that video where Lebron James is shooting from across the court and making every basket.

(oh and accelerating in the air is wtf, and also the angle and impact of the pool at that velocity would have killed him and destroyed the kid pool anyway).
