Anderson Silva is going to unify the middleweight and light-heavyweight belts. He is light years ahead of everyone else in those two classes. It would be awesome to see him and GSP go at it.

Forrest look like he took a dive, that was sketchy as hell...

Or maybe he was trying to slug against the best counter striker in the UFC and got his ass kicked.

yeah, i don't know what the hell that silva- grifin fight was about. i think that griffin needs to call it quits. his chin is now glass after the cumulative results of rampage and evans. weird stuff.

Rampage never even hurt Forrest. Forrest has never had a great chin anyway. But Silva hits like he is a robot or something everything was right on the button. That shot was probably the prettiest I have ever seen. It was the third or fourth one that rocked him though.

Silva connects on something like 80% of his punches. That is insane. NOBODY CONNECT ON 80% OF THEIR PUNCHES. lol

Anderson Silva would destroy Machida. The only person that stands a chance with him is if GSP moves up in weight and can somehow take him down. Still, chances are Silva will have the strength advantage and therefore render GSP's ground game worthless.

Not to mention that Silva has a ridiculous ground game, he just rarely has to use it because he's so good on his feet. He choked out Dan Henderson who is a good wrestler in his own right. Not sure GSP has beaten anyone he couldn't just out-muscle and takedown at will.

GSP is usually the stronger man in the octagon and that wouldn't be the case with Silva.

Silva would destroy Machida and he is the cream of the crop right now at 205. Hell, you could argue that Forrest Griffin is easily in the top 5 of the 205s. He made Forrest Griffin look like a first timer.

Who would be the best test for him next? Another fight with Dan Henderson? Chuck Liddell maybe? Silva vs Silva?

Forrest look like he took a dive, that was sketchy as hell...

That is what it looked like to me ko by a jab and his arms are flailing yet he can get up and run out of octagon 2 seconds later :welcome:

Machida is the only one I think that can beat Silva, he will put his hands down like that for Machida and get his ass handed to him

Apparently Silva and Machida are sparring partners. Not sure how that match would work out with both having a similar style where they like to wait and see what the other fighter is going to do then counter.

Forrest was rocked by a couple other punches that match then the jab that ended it was more Forrest running into it than Silva deliveringa knockout blow. Forrest had to give up after what was happening to him, it was embarrassing. He couldn't hit the guy when he was't even attempting to block.

Yeah, I don't think it was a dive... I think it was a concession and he was embarrassed. He basically tapped from humiliation.

Forrest was basically in a daze when the knockout happened. I don't think it was the punch itself that did all the damage, Forrest was just on his last legs and was basically swinging with hope and Anderson put him out of his misery.

http://i26.tinypic.com/qpqrrr.gif

Most casual knockout ever.

Unfortunately, I don't think we'll ever see Anderson take the LHW title. He's said before he won't fight Machida, so unless Machida loses the title soon (not sure I see that happening) then Anderson will stay away from him.

I don't actually think it'd be a great fight if it happened either. Both are very defensive, counter-strike fighters who would cancel each other out for long periods. Most likely it'd go 5 rounds and Silva would win it, IMO.

More likely to happen is that GSP moves up to challenge Anderson, and as phenomenal as GSP is I can't see that going too well for him.

Silva is just too good.
