Heart and minds = One in the heart and two in the mind.

War is an ugly business. We need to get in the weeds and keep the heat on the right guys every mission or you will end up uniting your enemy, strengthening their supply lines, and losing mission focus.

We keep making major mistakes and missing major opportunities.

It took a democrat to becomne president for the lefties to finally give our troops some props. I also notice we have unfortunately had some troops killed lately over there, but no outcries from the liberals of bringing our troops home and daily body counts. I kknow, it's just a coincidence. At least you soft lefties are much more transparent and predictable than Obama said he was going to be.

Apparently you are the only person that does not know so let me explain it to you. Obama looked at the security reports and realized that many of the changes he wanted to implement would cost American lives. He still wants to implement them. What this is called is a compromise. The US Military has two years to get this place straight, show progress and then we are scaling down. Why is this not all the newspapers? They are giving Obama they same time they gave Bush. You seem to forget the grace period that Bush received where nothing he did was wrong.

Years later when conservatives are getting the voices back and actually have something to say that isn't a childish tantrum over a birth certificate there will be a much softer view of Obama. What he has done as a patriot for this nation is pretty amazing. He had Bush cronies dead to rights but he did not run for election to divide this nation. The nation was already divided. Rather than unleash Dennis K and Pelosi he actually asked them to tone it down and focus on business forward. Conservatives don't seem to remember that. Obama has tried to dig deep in the Republican party to find people willing to make changes and frankly most of them have folded.

It is not supposed to be a game of Democrats win or Republicans win. It is supposed to be a discussion about what is best for the country. It is supposed to be about the root of politics which is making sure everyone has voice and everything that is said counts. We are not mature enough for that thus we end up with heavy handed politics and the powers that be are knighted again because WE THE PEOPLE refuse to have a voice. We whine a lot and attack each other like pet rabbits.

All the conservatives on this board and not one post about the Auditing the Federal Government. There is a 75% approval on that in general voting. All that is posted by the conservatives is trash talk, trivia pursuit and something about Freedom Farts. This is why our nation is floundering and we continue to allow bad decisions and then complicate it by blocking best compromises.

I think when we pull out of our game of global wars that the economy will stumble and we will all have to face another round of bad news. How do you stop one of biggest money makers in your economy even though it's costing you more than you bring in? People want accountability AND they want national security. Obama inherited this flaming car out of control and yet like three year old children we want instant answers.

I would rather be a little naive than fear laced, bent over and crying bitter tears. I cannot believe that conservatives allow some of the trash that is being spouted off to represent them. I am glad that Obama has put in check some of left idealists and progressives. Count on them to have a voice in the next election as they begin to attack Obama for not instantly meeting their needs either.

The cowardice and ignorance of some of the posters on this board is offensive. They poo in their diapers and then blame everyone around them. Personal responsibility for them is based on who is cleaning out their diapers and powdering their candied butts.

In combat you see the toughest talkers face down in the dirt crying for their mother at the first sign of danger. You will see this timid Barney Fife looking overgrown pimple transform into Audie FREAKING Murphy and suddenly command the battle field. You will see your best trained soldier fold like a house of cards because he's seen too much and cannot take anymore. You will see a guy who nobody knows suddenly have a voice and is in charge.

The potential of people is amazing. I enjoy watching people evolve and take on new challenges. I think the military is an amazing experience if you put it in perspective with your whole life and is something I wish that more civilians were exposed to.

UAV's worth every penny. Also for what it's worth I have so far been impressed by the new Pres for his military decisions. IE: Surge Afgan--Anytime you turn 4,000 marines loose you are gonna gain some ground(that is also despite the limiting ROE's they are still kicking the s*** outta fools dumb enough to stand and fight)

Next up:

Pirates a few months back--Barak authorized deadly force and the situation was quelled two seconds after the rifle recoil stopped

Now if he'd just have a couple of joint readiness exercises between the JDF, Brittain, the 7th fleet, 2nd ID and 7th AF maybe we could get the DPRK back to the nuke table

There is not a person on this board that was against the war in Afghanistan. We all knew that was what we were supposed to do. The problem is we spent billions of tax dollars in the WRONG WAR. Now because the conservatives were thrown out the only thing that you hear about is tax dollars wasted. They literally re-invented fraud, waste, and abuse.

This new offensive has time limits, consequences, deadlines and accountability. This is not "staying the course" this is called responding to changing conditions. This is a change we needed to have in Iraq when Rumsfield should have been fired three different times. Bush refused to give up his cronies and he paid for it.

Sarah Palin is the Jesse Jacskon of the Republicans. She talks a lot. She does nothing. She used to be somebody but she's not anymore. She wants to matter. She shows up to places she is not invited representing people who don't want her there and despite her constant attempts is not the face of the Republican party. I don't like posters using vulgar acccusations but why does she carry herself like a stripper? Why is every comment about how someone would like to turn this MILF out? Sarah Palin is the one candidate I know who would do a Playboy nude if it would deliver her the nomination. Is this the kind of candidate you want representing the Republicans?

I wish the RNC were better able to communicate. Sarah Palin is not an example of anyone I would want any woman I know to emulate. She is stupid and easily persuaded into compromised and erronous positions. I know. I can hear the pornography jokes from here.

There arent really too many representatives anymore. Most people who get on the government bankroll just want to ride that paycheck until the pension kicks in. They are supposed to be there to make deals to get things that their constituencies need, but instead they end up serving a small group of lobbyists who treat them like kings.

There wasn't really anything worth voting for you have to admit and how is voting for the lesser of the two evils doing ones civic duty? this country needs change and options when it comes to presidential candidates boths sides that are the only option now are completely useless and fail most everytime.

The lesser of two evils could mean a major difference in things if you think about it.

I can understand not wanting to feel like a rube but the bottomline is if you did not vote you have no room to complain. You did not help anybody but not voting and now you want to have an opinion? Why? Who cares what you think?

I don't like a government of the stupid for the stupid and by the stupid but unless you vote that is really what you get.

Classy.

I abstained from voting out of protest.

You could see the writing on the wall with Obama, and the McCain/Palin ticket was laughable.

Cheap ass cop out ......... what a fool , you didnt vote , you didnt even do a write in Candidate , yet here you are bitching ........you could have even wrote no vote on the presidential part ......... your silly little protest non vote amounts to someone spitting in the pacific ocean ........
sad very sad ..........
