Adam: Ayers deal is for five years. He needs to be good. Denver needs all the help it can get on its defensive line.

Awesome! Maybe he'll even make it to this afternoon's practice... I would love to hear a glowing report of his abilities. Perhaps he can beat up on Harris in a few 1x1 drills? ;)

PFT is implying that Knowshon won't be signed until Crabtree is singed...

hopefully thats not the case because i don't think Crabtree will be signed anytime soon...i hear he's asking for top 5 $$ even though he wasn't drafted top 5...

Broncos agree to terms with Ayers
Posted by Mike Florio on August 3, 2009 4:45 PM ET

The Denver Broncos, who had two first-round picks in the 2009 draft, had not yet agreed to terms with either player.

That changed today when, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN Future, the Broncos worked out a deal with defensive end Robert Ayers.

It's a five-year deal for the 18th overall pick in the draft.

Meanwhile, running back Knowshown Moreno, the Broncos' other first-rounder and the twelfth overall selection, remains unsigned.

Moreno is caught in a jam of players whose agents apparently are waiting to see what happens with receiver Michael Crabtree's contract in San Francisco. Crabtree was the tenth pick in the draft, and it widely has been reported that his agent, Eugene Parker, hopes to blow the slotting system apart by getting a deal equivalent to the packages paid out in the top five.

I doubt he plays on our DL as Schefter speculates--unless we go 4 DL in our nickel or Dime

Talk about needing to be great - I was looking at the guaranteed money that Tyson Jackson will be getting, and that's pressure!

The Chiefs will be paying out the ass for Jackson, he'd better make an immediate impact for them.

the Chiefs are clueless...i don't care what anybody says...

you don't take an exclusive 5 technique player #3 in the draft...

nonplaymakers aren't to be selected that high and paid that much money to start...
