Clady

7/25/2008: Signed a six-year, $14.75 million contract. The deal includes $11.415 million guaranteed. Another $2.55 million is available through incentives. 2009: $2,141,250, 2010: $2,569,500, 2011: $2,997,750, 2012: $1.994 million (Voidable Year), 2013: Free Agent

If true, you've got about $600k more guaranteed which seems reasonable but that $24M would have to be what he could earn through incentives because if not, he's got a contract worth almost $10M more than Clady at the same spot 1 year later.

Normally the terms are release a little while after a player gets signed. I don't think it has happened yet.

If Clady signed a 6-year contract last year.......he shouldn't be a free agent until 2014. Or did he only sign a 5 year deal?

that seems a little low for the number 12 pick. didn't Cutler get a deal basically the same amount on his rookie deal being picked in 2006? going by the rookie pay scale that goes up 5% each year shouldn't he be looking at a deal more in line with about 28million and about 15million guaranteed?

Cutler is a QB.

2013 is a voidable year, so he could be a UFA then. I think they're missing the info for 2013 and that voidable year part in '12 is in the wrong spot.

most likely the final year is voidable with playing time incentives met

The best $2,141,250 Pat Bowlen will spend this year. I find it hilarious that Shanny will make three times that amount from the Broncos for keeping his mouth shut and not coaching.

No one said it about Schefter because he actually brought good info that no one else could get. Josina has yet to bring anything to that table that's ground-breaking, or even well-reported.

It's quite obvious if you read some of her articles (especially those related to Marshall and one of her Cutler articles), that she's way too close to multiple players on this team. It's not a normal player/reporter relationship and that's absolutely unprofessional as a journalist. Another thing that Schefter would never be called to the mat for because he never did that.

Until JA actually brings some real journalism to the table, don't insult someone like Adam Schefter with their comparison.

Ya know, I was thinking about her last night. She has definite sources, but she breaks weird stories; star caps for instance.

For a local T.V. sports person, male or female, especially for the FOURTH rated newscast in a medium sized market, her career just seems weird and I can't even really describe why.

This is a twitter she had last night. "Just ran into NBA star Richard Jefferson in Cherry Creek. Says he'll come on the show in the future."

Okay, first of all, who just randomly runs into Richard Jefferson and he recognizes them and commits to coming on their show? Especially since she's a denver sports BLOGGER and he has been playing in Jersey and Milwaukee over the past several years? I mean, isn't it just weird? Should I care so much? Probably not.

I personally think people are fools if they don't follow Josina. No, she's not Schefter, but she offers a perspective that seems very close to the locker room. Whether you like the format or content of reporting or not, I think it's pretty cheap to slander her by making accusations that she's sleeping around to get her info. That's a pretty nasty thing to say about another person in public - especially without any proof.

true, but still doesn't the pay scale basically just go up slightly every year regardless of position played?

i know in the top 10 a QB can command a lot more than another player in the same slot could, but outside the top 10 isn't he just another player?

Im guessing it most likely depends on the team and the value they place on the QB. Like when we drafted Cutler, you could see then that he had a lot of attributes you want. A lot of teams and draftniks (including Mayock) thought Cutler was the better prospect. So, Im going to say it depends on the team, the agent, and the circumstance.

This will be interesting. The Raiders just gave Heywood-Bey upwards of $50 mill. A 20% bump over the money given to the same draft slot (#7) last year. That's going to complicate things, since every other 1st rounder is going to want a 20% hike now.

Leave it to the Raiders to overpay and screw things up. Seriously, Al's memory must be gone. Overpaying a wide receiver? Didn't they just do that with hmm what was his name? Something Walker? Unbelievable.
