we are very thick at WR this year, who you think will make the team?

i say:
brandon marshall
eddie royal
brandon stokely
kenny mckinnely
jabar gaffney
brandon lloyd

POSSIBLY: chad jackson

nate swift and lucas taylor will try to get put on PS...stokely may be a surprise cut however. it depends how many WR we keep.

man, I really hope Lloyd does not somehow look better than McKinley or Swift.

Swift is a real underdog, but I think he's a good player from what I remember seeing when he was in college. Good size and YAC instincts.

i heard the pats kept 7 WR active at one point, i think we keep 6 minimum..

Stokley doesn't play ST so he could be a surprise cut if one of the young ones makes plays on ST and shows they can play in the offense.

Probably won't happen but its not like he has no issues. He's older, he get injured not a lot, but sometimes. The older you get the more that happens, the longer it takes to heal.

If Marshall gets worked out, Royal looks good again, Gaffney is McDaniels boy, and then some young players start standing out Stokely could be well, not stoked.

You make a good case, I'm just thinking that McD is going to want to keep a vet like Stokley around. He's good for a couple of key 3rd down catches a game when healthy.

I wouldn't be shocked if we cut him, but I'd be very surprised. I'd think it would have to be purely health-related.

we lose gaffney before stokely

As much as I would love to agree with you, I think McDaniels will want "his guy" to play the slot receiver. I have this bad feeling that Stokley will be cut in favor of Gaffney. I hope I'm wrong...

The FO has already tried to replace Stokely once, why would McDaniels save him over his guy.

Your forgetting we hve 6 TE's including Hillis.

We will keep Hillis and 3 TE's.

No way Dr. Quinn gets cut. He might go on PS and someone gets him for nothing, or we waste a roster spot.

Look at where McD came from and see that much of the team was vets. I don't know what Stokely or Gaffney's contract numbers are, that could make a difference in the end, but I don't think Gaffney is the same type of reciever that Stokely is. I guess, maybe Gaffney and Royal would be simliar recievers, at least how Gaff was used in NE.

Quinn won't land on the PS. Our TE's will be DG, Scheff & Quinn. As for the original Q, I think our WRs will be: BMarsh, Royal, Stokes, Gaffney, McKinley & CJack.

Swift to PS. Lloyd and Taylor don't make the cut.

Footnote.

The team waived injured rookie wide receiver Lucas Taylor. Taylor, who reported on Monday, had not participated in the first three days of practice, but McDaniels would not discuss the nature of his injury.

Now the only reason Gaffney is here is because he's McDaniels' boy? Ummm the guy did produce the past couple of years you know. I wish this board was around in 1995 when Shanahan signed a tall, slow white receiver named Ed McCaffery that he had in San Fran.
