Feds Prepare To Tax Toilet Paper In Name Of Climate Change

Paul Joseph Watson

Tuesday, July 21, 2009

The vampiric and gluttonous feeding frenzy currently being enjoyed by the federal government under the pretext of climate change is set to be expanded with a range of new taxes on products disposed of via waste water, including cosmetics, toothpaste and toilet paper.

The “Water Protection and Reinvestment Act,” H.R.3202, introduced last week by Representative Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore), will be “financed broadly by small fees on such things as bottled beverages, products disposed of in wastewater, corporate profits, and the pharmaceutical industry,” according to Blumenauer’s fact sheet.

I doubt it as well. However, it illustrates the lengths that Congress will go to to tax us down to nothing. Economic power is our only true freedom in this country. Without money we are mere slaves.

Now that you've gotten that all out of your system. The point still stands.

Hate to break it to everybody, but we are killing the worlds' oceans. And the way we are doing it is that we are flushing massive amounts of poisonous garbage into the oceans every day, from every continent. Just the petroleum products washed into the sea from our paved world equals the Valdez spill - 11 billion gallons of petroleum products - per month. Your great-grandchildren will never know what tuna tastes like, and they will probably be banned from swimming in the ocean at some point, like they already are in the seas near many urban centers, like L.A. March on crazy monkeys! ;D

I've always hoped they would put a higher tax on soda pop, jello, diapers, and ice cream here in Utah. Hell, we'd be the richest state in the Nation.

In that regard yes. But inside of the sub-system of economy, if governemnt keeps making new taxes then quite literally they take away your economic power and inhibit ones ability to make a wider range of choices to live their lives.

So, you would like the government to continue to provide you with fresh drinking water while protecting your access to recreational water resources and working toward cleaning our coastal water resources, even in the face of possibly diminishing water resources caused by climate change, but you don't want to pay for it. Sing that rightard melody! Hilarious!

Be careful what you wish for. By the end of the next legislative session Gunns your income will probably be cut by 10% or more when your local city and state get done raising fees on you because they no longer have the tax revenue coming in.

Everyone is so concerned with taxes yet nobody pays attention to what happens on the legislative level at your state capital. At any given time there are dozens and dozens of bills on the table to raise fees on you.

People love to b**** after it's too late.

They already have the money. They decided to spend it elsewhere. The water treatment plants we already have didn't materalize out of thin air. Further more there is no gurantee the money they collect will go to it's intended source. This is fundamental problem with filtering money through the Federal Government on what is clearly a local matter.

And, as they have discovered in California, everybody wants more services but fewer taxes. We have to stop blaming the government and start blaming ourselves. If you don't want to pay higher taxes, then stop bitching to your Congressional rep about ****ty roads, bad water, poisonous landfills, your unarmored kid in Iraq, your crappy schools, the loss of jobs when the government programs get shut down, etc. etc. etc. etc.

Americans want their cake, and want to eat it too. The Right loves to trumpet how nobody should get something for nothing, and then immediately launch into their lame-brained philosophy of how they want government to do this and that (whatever their pet project is) without raising taxes. We always hate government paying to carry out some other guy's project, but when they benefit us, we're all for it? I was listening to Saxby Chambliss arguing for the F-22 yesterday on the radio. He knows it's a bloated, obsolete, useless waste of tax money, but he doesn't care. It provides jobs and money to his district. Everybody else can go **** off.

It already has. Of course we didn't get a raise this year, our health benefits went up over 10% with a higher premium and co-pay. I understand what you are saying though. With Governor Huntsman being made Ambassador to China and the Lt. Governor taking over, he's going to sit on his thumbs until next year when they have the special election. The legislature isn't going to cause any waves until then either to make sure he gets elected and then all the good Huntsman did will go out the window and they will begin to hit us like a ton of bricks. In this state it doesn't matter if you b**** unless you're with the status quo, the reigning, dominant party. The rest of us are just sinners who don't now any better.

You know your state better than I do but you'd be surprised at how much noise a few voices can make.

When our transit authority in Colorado decided they were going to confiscate land all over Denver a few of us land owners rose up. We damn near changed the power of eminent domain but came up short because the democrats in power felt that it's the governments role to take people's land to redevelop. None the less the crooks running the racket have all but resigned or died ironically enough.

I've recently turned my attention to the battle transparency of public records and spending in Colorado. The democrats aren't too thrilled with this movement and they don't like the idea of having to disclose where they are spending the money. Our goal is to force the records to be posted online. You'd think they wouldn't have a problem with that but they us. Ha!

I know you are a busy mother but you have every right to walk into your state capital and raise hell.

Ro I'm with you. It's our fault and we have nobody to blame but ourselves for the state of our country. This is the underlying theme of most of my posts in this forum.

The sad reality is most people are too lazy to even care about what their politicians are doing. It's more convenient to vent on a messageboard.

Hmm, and here I thought, according to Obama and his genius VP, that only the rich would have an increase in taxes. So I must be considered rich since only the rich apparently use toilet paper. What do the poor and middle class use instead of toilet paper then? Don't forget of gas and food, which are going to get higher taxes too, the rich must be the only ones buying those things. According to Obama, looks like you're rich if you simply wake up in the morning.

Yes this state is whole other beast. Here in SL county there is much more bipartisan but the outlying communities rule the state, the legislature. A lot are truly sheep because if you talk politics with them, they don't have a clue just that the person from their church is running or declaring what needs to be done and by damn we should follow. The opposing party to them is merely sinners.

We are really going to miss Huntsman. He was the first one from that dominant party that did what was best for the whole state.

Perfect example of government BS fees.

It is now illegal in colorado to collect rainwater from your roof. If you want to do it you need to pay a TAX....err I mean fee. You can't even collect a bit of water for your f'in tomatoes.

At some point enough has to be enough.Uh, it has been illegal for residential property owners in parts of the state to collect rainwater for years. The new law actually givers owners more rights to do so now.

According to the constitution, water must be appropriated according to priority of appropriation. As a result, in much of the state, it is illegal to divert rainwater falling on your property expressly for a certain use unless you have a very old water right or during occasional periods when there is a surplus of water in the river system. This is especially true in the urban, suburban, and rural areas along the Front Range. This system of water allocation plays an important role in protecting the owners of senior water rights that are entitled to appropriate the full amount of their decreed water right, particularly when there is not enough to satisfy them and parties whose water right is junior to them.
New Law Allowing Rainwater Collection in Colorado
Senate Bill 09-080, which was passed by the General Assembly and signed by the Governor during the 2009 legislative session, allows limited collection and use of precipitation for landowners, etc. cont.
