Steve McNair filmed suicide prevention ad in weeks before death
Steve McNair recorded a suicide prevention commercial in the weeks prior to his death in a murder-suicide committed, police say, by Sahel Kazemi.
The Nashville City Paper reported that McNair had filmed the public service announcement for the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities.
The ad, which was still being edited, never aired.
“We were developing a PSA but it never reached the point of being aired and it seems broadcasting it now is not only inappropriate but doesn't serve the community, his family or memory, or the issue we hoped the PSA would help address,” department spokesman Jill Hudson told the City Paper.
McNair died on Saturday after being shot four times, police say, by Sahel Kazemi. Police said ballistics tests revealed that Kazemi then turned the gun on herself.
