Hmm, this is a tough question because there are three types of drinkers and I only prefer to drink with one of those types.

1) The happy drunk - these guys/gals are awesome to drink with.
2) The angry drunk - To be avoided at all costs
3) The obnoxious drunk - These people I just want to throat punch.

So if you are Type 1, I will drink with you.

If you dont know what type you are, odds are good you are type 3 and you should just stay away from me.

As someone living in Cincinnati , I suggest you be careful here when coming to see the Broncos . The Bungals fans are violent morons .

Last Bengals Broncos game i was at here there was 2 Broncos fans both female in front of me a few rows all decked out in Broncs stuff , banners , pom poms , etc ...

sometime during the 3rdQ the crowd started Fing with them throwing drinks and hard candy at them and when they finally said something about it these two men next to them grabbed their pom poms and a hat and threw it over the edge to lower lvl and shoved one of them back down in her seat , they was crying and it was pathetic ... My father called stadium security and they came and took care of it .. But it was hella lame.

That bottle, right there, is one of the finest whiskeys in the world. And at about $70 (before tax) it is right in the wheel house of folks who would like a great whiskey but don't like that big price tag.

Single malt Islay, very smokey, very peaty. Been made the same way for over 200 years and just a wonderful drinking experience. Take with just a splash of water to open the flavor and kick back and enjoy.

His younger brother (10 yr) is a much bolder experience. Still wonderfully smooth and delicious but not as subtle as the 15 yr. However you go as long as Laphroaig is on the labe rest assured you're getting a quality scotch made with pride, honor, and in a tradition all drunkards can appreciate.

Benrinnes is another scotch I need to try but finding it is quite the search.

As bourbon goes, Maker's Mark. I can't take Jack or Jim. Blech.

I wore a jacket covering my Broncos stuff that night cause i was there with my family and new the crowd would F with us if they seen me in Broncos stuff ... But if you come to Cincinnati , treat it like Compton ...

Man you are a ****ing pussy

Well considering I was there at the game with my 70 year old father , 64 year old mother and girlfriend I chose to have a brain and not make them targets for morons ... You might find that p#ssy , I find it common sense ...

What a Fing moron you must be , I bet your brilliant when drunk. Since the thread is about drinking ...

It is even stated in the thing you quoted about me being at the game with old people . With people being beaten to death for wearing the other teams gear at stadiums I will error on the side of caution with my family ... You do what you choose with yours ...

I went to another game ALONE , Jake's first actually and wore broncos stuff and had no problems ... But I knew for that Monday night game the crowd was going to nasty and I smart enough not to put others at risk ...

listen to Ohiobronco2 and the fact there is a whole thread someone on how nasty that crowd was that night ... and stop being a Fing name calling douche bag .

I'm a type I, but I do like to talk some ****. So it'd be great to invite some of the Raider or Chief trolls because I become even happier when they become Type 2. Or I Bleed Orange, I think he'd be under the table, put there by Bronco fans. Dude you are not the number 1, be all, Bronco fan.

Blech.

Bahlvenie port (21yr $120-135) is at the top of my list. I'm not to "hot" on the Islay scotches. Don't like the peat. Their 12yo and 10yo aren't to shabby and are more affordable at $60 and $40 a wack.

Try one if you haven't yet.

See, I think it is situational. I wear my Broncos gear every chance I get, and will probably be decked out for the Skins, Ravens, and Eagles games this year. On the other hand, my fiancee is a huge Browns fan, she wore her Browns gear to the Ravens/Browns game 2 years ago at Ravens stadium, and was extremely vocal in her support of the team. The Ravens lost that game off the deflected kick that bounced in of the goal post. I am VERY glad we left early (she got too cold, she isn't allowed to come to my Broncos games this year, or has to be prepared to wait in the car). Ravens stadium in Browns gear after talking smack, after that particular game would just not have been safe. There are situations where it just isn't safe to show your colors, it is a shame that it happens, but it does. If given a choice between my families safety and showing support for my team, I am going to pick my families safety everytime.

:D Dude, just let it go. There no issue with covering up or not wearing your teams colors during an away game. Bottom line, if you go into these venues wearing your gear, you are bound to run into a drunk, an ahole, or both who want to give you trouble for this reason alone. Many times their are multiple people. We're not all Jet Li or the Sandwich artist where we can pull off the line, "You have no idea what I'm capable of." TD is well within his rights not to wear his gear and antagonize morons who may wish to do harm to him or his family. The immediate area around Paul Brown stadium isn't too bad, but neighborhoods like over the rhine aren't too far and some pretty shady characters live there.

I'm not going to take either side on it, but its also HOW you wear your gear.

If you are there to watch the game and have football conversation with people, you will have no problem. You need to learn how to get heckled and laugh it off or even back down when somebody tries to get you riled up (mid 20s people dont know about this yet)

I had beer poured on me at the Giants/Broncos game in 97 when we lost our undefeated season. I had a guy literally attack me at Gilette after the Sunday night game two years ago when we beat the Pats (Brandon Marshall had a great catch and run that game) and I had my hat taken off my head and thrown into another section during the Jets game in the rain last year....none of them ended in bloodshed and a lot of the opposing fans actually stuck up for me in each instance....

the guy who attacked me at Gilette was like 60, it was so strange....he totally blindsided me on teh walk to the car and I dipped low and just nudged him tot he ground...before i knew it there were three cops around us asking me if I wanted to press charges....no thanks, that sounds like a lof of waiting around and paperwork

Worst fans by far that i was around at an away game were Jets fans...probably because they thought that win last year was in the bag

if you're afraid for your safety, or the safety of friends and family, then covering up is the prudent thing. entering a pi$$ing contest and provoking people you don't even know would be the dumb thing, IMO. no matter how many tough guys we have here, fighting for the 'honor' of your team is not cool or brave or honorable, it's immature and stupid. What's smarter, waving your colors proudly and inciting others to beat you senseless, or covering up and voicing your approval when your team does something good? it's not a reflection on your fanhood if you trash talk yourself into a brawl or worse. it IS a reflection on your fanhood when you take the high road, proceed with class and caution to the end, and oh yeah, keep your head when everything's burning around you.

Thanks Beantown....now I went back and started looking at that season...which ended like this...if you read through this, theres a little bit of the teams last 3 years wrapped up in here ...Shanahan saying Cutler isnt responsible, costly turnovers, Plummer coming in for a drive and wishing he wasnt in football, tatum bell fumbling, Al Wilson has a "sore" back...man

DENVER (AP) -- Now Mike Shanahan wishes he hadn't gotten his wish.

Denver's coach wanted Kansas City to win on Sunday so that the Broncos wouldn't back into the playoffs but be motivated to play their best football.

Instead, the Broncos tumbled into the offseason when Joe Nedney's 36-yard field goal with 1:56 left in overtime sent the San Francisco 49ers past the stunned Broncos 26-23.

"Well, you want to play your best football this time of year," Shanahan said. "If we played like we did today, we wouldn't go very far in the playoffs. If we played like we did last couple of weeks, we had a chance to do something special."

Now, their AFC rivals in Kansas City will have that opportunity. Denver's fifth loss in seven games made the Chiefs (9-7) the final wild-card team.

Had the Chiefs not beaten Jacksonville, the Broncos would be heading to the postseason, even with their loss.

All the Broncos (9-7) needed was a win over the double-digit underdog Niners (7-9) or even a tie to earn a spot in the playoffs but they couldn't score touchdowns on three trips inside the Niners' 5 and blew an early 13-0 lead.

"Whenever you get on the 1-yard twice and in the red zone three times and you don't score no touchdowns that's pathetic," Broncos rookie receiver Brandon Marshall said. "We have a lot of work to do.

"San Francisco?" Marshall added. "Come on, San Francisco? It was a perfect setup for us."

And an absolute letdown.

"We had some opportunities early to put the game away," Shanahan said. "Obviously, San Francisco did a fine job keeping us out."

Of the end zone and the playoffs.

"You better believe it felt good taking them out," Niners quarterback Alex Smith said. "If we were going to be home for the playoffs we wanted them to be right with us."

With a sputtering ground game, the Broncos were unable to run out the clock in overtime.

"We weren't thinking about a tie," rookie quarterback Jay Cutler said. "That was the last thing on our minds. You play another 15 minutes, somebody's going to score most of the time."

San Francisco got the ball back with 4:38 left in overtime and drove 42 yards to the Denver 18, where Nedney kicked his fourth field goal. As it sailed through the uprights, Denver safety John Lynch smashed his helmet on the grass, a crushing end to Denver's dreams of a franchise-record fourth straight trip to the playoffs.

Niners coach Mike Nolan said that if Chiefs coach Herm Edwards gets a bonus for reaching the playoffs, "I want half of it."

The Broncos sent the game into overtime when Cutler, who was knocked woozy and sidelined by a hard hit in the first half, drove his team 80 yards in 10 plays and threw a fastball to fellow rookie Tony Scheffler for a 9-yard TD with 90 seconds left in regulation.

"I was a little dinged up. My head was swimming a little bit," Cutler said. "But I was fine in the second half."

After Champ Bailey returned his league-leading 10th interception 70 yards for a touchdown and a 13-0 lead, the Niners responded with 17 straight points, capped by Walt Harris's 28-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Harris, who had three takeaways, also picked off Jake Plummer, who came in after Anthony Adams' hard hit sent Cutler to the sideline in the second quarter. Plummer, who was benched five weeks ago, also committed a false start.

Capitalizing on linebacker Al Wilson's absence with a sore lower back, Frank Gore, the NFC's starting Pro Bowl running back, gained 153 yards on 31 carries and caught two more passes for 32 yards for San Francisco.

"Not to be able to help this team in the end is very tough," said Wilson, the Broncos' best tackler.

Cutler looked woozy upon his return after halftime and made several bad decisions and poor throws and even burned all of Denver's three timeouts on one third-quarter drive.

"I don't blame it on the quarterback. I blame it on me," Shanahan said. "I have to get it in there a little quicker."

"You could see it in his eyes he wasn't all there," Scheffler said of Cutler. "He obviously came in and toughed it out and played a pretty good game overall, with exception of one interception."

Bailey led the league with 11 takeaways -- but that would be of little consolation to the perennial Pro Bowl cornerback.

"It's terrible, it really is," said Broncos receiver Rod Smith, one of a handful of holdovers from the Broncos' championship teams of the late 1990s. "We're better than that football team, by far. We didn't play like it today. It ended our season. We ended our own season. It's hard to take that. We were in control of our own fate and we chose not to move forward and nothing you can do about it now."

Game notes
Gore broke Garrison Hearst's single-season franchise records for rushing and total yards. ... Denver's Tatum Bell topped 1,000 yards rushing but committed a costly fumble for the third straight game.

What's smarter, waving your colors proudly and inciting others to beat you senseless, or covering up and voicing your approval when your team does something good? it's not a reflection on your fanhood if you trash talk yourself into a brawl or worse. it IS a reflection on your fanhood when you take the high road, proceed with class and caution to the end, and oh yeah, keep your head when everything's burning around you.

just because you wear broncos gear doesn't mean you're going to get in a fight. Who cares if people yell **** at you......its expected and i wish the fans in denver would do the same to other team fans. Just because he had a broncos jersey on doesn't mean he is gonna get in a fight.

Okay... I'm going to ignore the fact that I'm not on ANYONE'S FREAKING LIST and name a couple of posters. I'm sure I'll miss a few:

Hogan, Sassy, Dipso, LordHelmchen, STG, Alec, Atlas, Apa, SoCal, Kaylore, Buff, Eddie Mac, Montrose, amesj, Spider and the one Champ24 or 24Champ (can't remember now and don't know where the hell he went) that was always praising argentine women.

If I'm forgetting someone... I don't care, because I'm not on your list either so screw you. :)

just because you wear broncos gear doesn't mean you're going to get in a fight.

i don't believe i even implied that this was the case. the problem lies in some drunk d##khead 3 rows back whose actions you cannot control. if you're there with your family, this guy can ruin a perfectly good outing by mercilessly assaulting you verbally and even getting physical.

Who cares if people yell **** at you......its expected and i wish the fans in denver would do the same to other team fans.

You may not care, but others might and do. Again, if I have a kid or my mom with me, verbal abuse is not OK. You may wish Broncos fans would act like immature jerkoffs, but some of us don't need to establish dominance in the stands because the best fans only care about dominance on the field. Buying a ticket doesn't give anyone the right to abuse other fans physically or verbally simply because they pull for the other team.

Just because he had a broncos jersey on doesn't mean he is gonna get in a fight.

See above. You can only control what you do, but if someone else is quickly moving toward physical or verbal confrontation, discretion could be the better part of valor.

Bahlvenie port (21yr $120-135) is at the top of my list. I'm not to "hot" on the Islay scotches. Don't like the peat. Their 12yo and 10yo aren't to shabby and are more affordable at $60 and $40 a wack.

Try one if you haven't yet.

I will do that. However I absolutely revel and wallow in the peaty and smokey flavor of Islay scotch and Laphroaig just "does" it for me. The Islay scotches are so unique to their region with such great flavor and subtle notes that come out I just adore their whiskey.

I take the 15 with a Davidoff Tubo numero 3 and it is a little slice of heaven.

Well I'll have to give it a try. How does it compare to Johnny Walker?

As for bourbon, I like Maker's Mark. I just like Jack better. I'm not a fan of Jim Beam at all. I think you have to be like 70 years old before you can start enjoying that stuff lol.

Laphroaig is nothing like Johnny Walker. Its probably like nothing you've ever drank before. Islay scotch is a unique experience and Laphroaig is unique among Islay scotches. Lagavulin is another good Islay scotch as well.

I would agree 100%. Which is what makes the $70 price tag for Laphroaig and other great single malt scotches so wonderful. They're not up their own arse with penis envy price tag ego. The charge a fair price for a great product.

I just do not get into the blended scotch world. It isn't my bag.

The ONLY palateable blended scotch is "The Dimple Pinch 15yr". It's fine at a price of $39-42.

Really not too bad, but I do prefer my single malt!^5

I am not a big scotch drinker, but I like a good highland or speyside whiskey. Glengoyne is my favourite (lovely little distillery), but I like a Glenlivet or Balvenie as well.

I am mostly a beer guy, malt is just better used when it isn't distilled.

I agree. I mean the only time anything even close to a bad thing happening is when we were standing up for Bronco fans in KC who were getting yelled at and hit. We said something and the guy pulled a knife. The cops came and kicked him out. We stuck up for them because it was the right thing to do. You know I have friends that go to the Black hole in orange and live to talk about it. It is part of the fun. In Oakland you will get more crap if you cover up then if you just show your colors. They can tell a half or scared fan from the rest and they make those fans pay. The same is true in KC and Miami. Cincy is in the top 10 but not the top 5 for worst fans. And if you are scared to show up in Cincy in full Broncos gear then I am sure we will not be seeing you in Philly.

So.....since the broncos jersey arguement ended peacefully, my list would be:

Spider -- Hopefully I could get him drunk enough to beat him in chess

TDmvp -- A nice tall beer from the hofbrauhaus and We can plot how to take over the democrats in Ohio, debate which city is worse Cleveland or Cinci, and most of all prove to him I am old enough to buy a drink. LOL

BCJ -- Because everytime I have been around him was a time when I wasn't drinking. And I must say.....I am a pretty avid poker player myself.

Hogan -- Because he is cool and has a rockin musical taste

Hawaii Guy -- Because i have been to the last 16 games with him, and will be doing the same this year.

Crawdad -- Assuming we can find a bar we can still smoke in LOL

Dortoh -- A man with a turtle dressed in a snuuggie needs all the alcohol he can get.

Actually I can pretty much add anyone to the list.....as long as your a broncos fan............but special consideration goes out to all those who neg repped me on this thread. It really made me feel like one of the true maners (or at least like Dortoh)

Special beer for Atlas.

I will have a beer with anyone that wants to talk about Gene and or Broncos.

Too many to name, I have had a blast with the OM'ers that I have shared beers with over the last 4 years, this includes you 80smith!

I really would like to spend a couple nights talking to all those in the aerospace fields, or those that worked/work for NASA. It is amazing how many are here and how many great threads or PM's I have already shared with them.

I owe TJ a beer for the great Economics book recomendations. Keep em coming!

A night talking with all the Guitar heros here would be fun.

If anyone left out Blue they should seek out punishment.

A night with Elsid, hotrod and Oleg would be fun.

I owe Khan a soda for all the Kuper/sodomy jokes that I cannot stop myself from making at his expense.

Anyone that has filed a report from TC gets a beer also.
