This is Bethpage Black, one of the toughest brutal Golf courses to be played in the Northest.

I like Zach Johnson. He's been playing well.

I'm going with Sergio Garcia to grab his first major....

I'm supposed to go on Saturday....my friend is trying to convince me to eat a special plant before going, but golf sounds a little to "quietly intense" for that

Ogilvy, I think that is how it's spelled, this guy is a golfer baby!

Ogilvy and Henrik Stenson.

Had to have a tenner on Mickelson too, it'd be such a great story with what's happened with his wife and his history at the US Open.

In my fantasy golf pool I have Ogilvy and Poultier. Tiger is the obvious favorite - I already used him for the Masters (in our pool you can use a golfer for only one tournament during the season)

Ogilvy has won a US Open and won the Match Play this year - he can play with the big boys. Poultier was 2nd at the Players Championship and has played well in Europe.

I expect one of the big names to win - not a course for a first time Open winner to break through.

Done for the day.

Rain expected over the next few days too. Could run into next week if they don't get some luck with the weather the next few days.

I live one town over from Bethpage and when I go to work I usually cut through the park but this week they aren't allowing that of course.

Traffic hasn't been so bad if you know the back roads but today was a zoo with the down pour all day. We've been getting rain for the past few weeks and it's not supposed to stop for a few days.

tiger 3 putts and double's the 15th was just a huge momentum killer..he was even up to that hole then just fell apart...wow that was disappointing to watch..he couldn't make a putt and was driving right each hole..he couldn't even find the fairway with a 3 wood on the 18th.

Garcia Bronco

He needs to leave his 3 wood and Driver in the bag and hit with 1 iron.

Short hitters can easily win this tourney. Pavis was one of the shortest guys off the tee and he won it several years ago. Look for somebody who can keep their ball low and chips and putts well.

Well considering he is the greatest of all time, you would expect people to want to wash his balls a little. The differnce between the two is that Favre is not even the best QB in the last 10 years. The Favre love is unjustified.

Besides, when's the last time Favre single handledly made a sport relevant again? The media is obsessed with Tiger, because he's the sole reason millions of people have started watching golf.

It's 2009.

And? He's demostrated in the past that he can be just as good if not better scoring off the tee with his 1 iron.

He's never used a 1-iron, nobody has in decades.

Youe general point is solid though, if Tiger was any good off the tee I shudder to think what margins he'd win tournaments by.

I believe he used one is the last Masters he won. It could have been a 2 iron. Either way he can get better control by clubing down and still score.

I've never hit with a 1, but I carry a 2.

Schism is right, I don't even think they make 1 irons anymore. Tiger is one of the only pros to still carry a 2 iron though. That's probably what you are thinking of.

These hybrids that are taking over are so gay.

Real men use long irons.

Tiger is 10 shots back from the lead right now.

Of course, he still has 3 round to play, but I doubt he can make that up.
