Show me where Weigmann is holding out? Please find an article where it says that. Because from every article I have read he isn't, just wants an extension.

So this thread is full of fail!

Well, point taken either way.

1 cancer gone, 1 head case being a head case, 1 worth every penny. But number 1 pick is just being dramatic. But thats par for the course here.

He has a point though ... of our three Pro-Bowlers, one is gone, one is holding out, and the third is pretty vocal about being underpaid.

Well the one who most deserved the pro-bowl (not saying the others didn't) has a gripe. But I also think that his professionalism will be rewarded. Remember the draft picks haven't been signed yet. Once they get those big contracts out of the way Weigmann and probably Marshall will get theirs.

Also Marshall would be an issue even if Shanny was still here. Remember he had a policy of not reworking rookie contracts.

I think he would have made an exception here ... this guy is amazing. And imo he was the clear Pro-Bowler. You forget, but Weigmann was an alternate. Are you anti-Marshall in any way Apa? Cause i think a Top 10 player with two straight 100/1000 seasons, going into the 4th and final year of his deal, deserves something more than to play it out.

No not anti-marshall per se. I don't like this mini-holdout. I also don't think his track record warrants a redo. If he comes in this year and shows the hand has recovered, stays out of trouble then pay the man.

But the team can't afford to redo his contract which would include a huge signing bonus when he is one incident away from a lengthy suspension.

He also may not be in the clear he goes on trial for domestic abuse in Atlanta in August. If convicted the league may very well suspend him.

Just not the time to redo his contract, IMO

No, I agree, not a full new monster deal just yet. But give him a one-year bump with incentives, serious incentives he will want to meet. He deserves that much. Remember, if he gets too ticked off he might wanna leave.... he will have suitors.

I realize our new coach thinks "screw the individual, we're better off without them," but that's just not reality. We just can't keep p***ing off our best players.

We are staring straight at two hold outs. For the record, i eventually see BMarsh showing up and playing this year. He's made his own bed because of all the trouble he's had .

Weigmann will not come to camp without a new deal and McNugget and his FO seem reluctant to make that move.

He doesn't need to play football per his thoughts.

Either way we are most likely gonna be bad this year anyways. Without Weigmann and Marshall, we're gonna be worse.

The point of this thread is that it would have been nice to capitalize off playing a lot of youngsters this season, albeit losing, and having the ability to grab an extremely talented player early on. Instead, we most likely won't be spending large money on any quality free agents and we'll probably be getting the 25th best player off the board by the time we draft.

The decision was stupid in April and it looks even more stupid now. A. Smith is going to have to post incredible numbers to match the talent that is coming out in the top 10 this year.

If Marshall stays and plays out his contract we won't resign him.

Probably worth discussing this somewhere else, but since the retards haven't taken over this thread yet, I'll just do it here.

I think it's important to recognize that with both Marshall and Wiegmann, we've already gotten more production that we've paid either for. It's definitely been mention in the other thread(s), but what we give them now shouldn't be based solely on what they will bring to the table in the future, but also on what they've already given the team. In my opinion, at least.

I think Weigmann played great and if there is one position where guys can last and last and last, it's at center. The guy had a great season last year. Probably better than Nalen has had in his past five, just my opinion though. He's healthy, relatively injury free and the smart type of guy we need leading our young OL.

I don't give a **** about Brandon Marshall. Good player but he beats up women and is generally an idiot. I don't care. Let him rot somewhere else.

I'd take a 2nd rounder for him if we could move him. STRAIGHT up.

That's another story though. The original thought was the type of player we are going to miss out on because we will be losing a top 5 pick this year.
