I doubt the official team will fill out like an actual roster but will likely be much simpler. The Steelers 75th Anniversary team two years ago consisted of 15 offensive players, 16 defensive players and two special teamers. I imagine we'll see something similar. Perhaps - simplifying the process - we'll simply vote on the 25 greatest Broncos of all time. Here would be my (rough) list by position that I'm sure I'll catch a little heat for:

QB John Elway
RB Floyd Little
RB Terrell Davis
WR Rod Smith
WR Haven Moses
WR Lionel Taylor
WR Brandon Marshall
T Gary Zimmerman
G Keith Bishop
C Tom Nalen
TE Shannon Sharpe
TE Riley Odoms
DL Rich Jackson
DL Paul Smith
LB Randy Gradishar
LB Karl Mecklenburg
LB Tom Jackson
LB Simon Fletcher
LB Al Wilson
DB Steve Atwater
DB Dennis Smith
DB Billy Thompson
DB Louis Wright
DB Champ Bailey
K Jason Elam

I am guessing that you don't know all the key players that could run for the Broncos 50th anniversary team because you were a Patsy fan up until this Feb.

It is either you were a Patsy fan until this year or your parents bought you your 1st PC 2 years ago and let you go to the InterNEtsWeb.

My heart goes with Floyd.

Anyway TD got 2 SB wins and league MVP, during the Brent Farverer years! He has enough accolades.

I think the same way. Can make an argument either way. But, I am not sure TD has enough accolades. Not until he gets to Canton - which means he will never get enough accolades.

that is a tough call. Little was the Franchise before Elway came along and is very important in Broncos history as he brought respectability to Denver and basically was a major reason Denver still has a team, but TD was instrumental in getting us 2 Super Bowl wins and is the best RB in team history. he doesn't have the historical importance of Little, but he was the better back.

As I said earlier guys, I expect the team to be more of an overall group rather than a set number of players at a certain position. These things tend to be fan friendly, and in all honesty - I'd rather an extra LB or DB who deserves to be named to be the squad make it over another player just because of the position he played.

I just voted. Some tough calls had to be made. You can tell by my list that I was heavily influenced by the Super Bowl winning teams.

QB- John Elway
RB- Terrell Davis, Floyd Little
WR- Rod Smith, Ed McCaffery
TE- Shannon Sharpe
T- Zimmerman, Jones
G- Bishop, Schlereth
C- Nalen

DE- Fletcher, Tombstone
DT- Pryce, Paul Smith
LB- Gradishar, Mecklenburg, Wilson
CB- Bailey, Wright
S- Atwater, Gonsoulin

K- Elam
P- Rouen
KR- Upchurch

I am 25, so many of the players I only vaguely know of. My list reflects that, obviously. Most of them are people I have seen play. The only exceptions are Little, Upchurch, Tombstone, Paul Smith and Gonsoulin. Those guys made it on reputation and looking at their stats.

Given that the majority of those who'll be voting are probably under 30, TD will take it (as will most of the 90's era Broncos).

Little is still (and probably will always be) The Man to me....Historically second only to Elway, the leaving him off that whole "Broncos Rushmore" thing effectively closed the book on my interest when it comes to these things.

Just finished voting, wish it could've been a 3-4 defense as I would've prefered to leave off a DT for another LB. I had a couple, "what the hell, it's my team" moments like Lynch over Smith and Thompson or Marshall over Taylor and Moses.

true. and you're right a lot of guys like Gradishar, Little, Tombstone, and others who played decades ago are not going to get a lot of thought in this because of the younger generation not knowing about the history of the team.

i am in the same problem. i am only 23 and have only seen guys like TD, Elway, Sharpe, Rod, McCaffrey play. the only reason i know about the classic old time players is from uncles and cousins who taught me about the team and what these guys meant to the franchise.

That was friggin sweet! I loved the videos (other than Saccomano reading the cue cards). I am looking forward to the results in September.

For what it's worth, here's my team:

SPECIAL TEAMS: Elam, Rouen, and Upchurch.

OFFENSE: Elway, Davis, Little, Smith, Moses, Sharpe, Zimmerman, Lanier, Bishop, Howard, Nalen.

DEFENSE: Alzado, Jackson, Pryce, Carter, Jackson, Wilson, Mecklenburg, Bailey, Wright, Atwater, Smith.
