No one thought the Nugs were going to be any good this year. I remember people speculating that Karl was going to be fired if the Nuggets didn't make the playoffs.

THat being said I would love it if they could get a Steve Kerr or Jon Paxton type of perimeter player. Smith played some horrible basketball from the three point range and he had lots of wide open shots. If Denver could getr a reliable outside shooter they will be better next year.

Congratulations Nuggets!!!! What a great year!

Go Orlando!!!!

Yeah, definitely need a more reliable SG and better PG off the Bench. AC was brutal, man. I found a list of FA's

Or we could pray Kobe opts out of his deal and dons the powder blue.

And damnit, re-sign Anderson!™

Doesn't Denver need a legit inside scoring bigman to open up outside even more. Nene and Kmart Birdman did nothing much. Birdman is a fan fav they'll keep him.

Yeah, Nene's been very inconsistent. Seeing how it is that the Nuggs went this far, maybe Uncle Stan might be willing to open up his wallet for a big man as well as a legit shooter. But that means dealing Nene & that $9m salary of his....

They really did well. I think we need more size in the middle to post up and get rebounds.

Yep indeed Atlas. One more steady guy like that and hopefully this whole experience will mature the team and Carmello as well on what it takes to go all the way.

We need a consistent inside scoring threat that can rebound. I like Nene, but he is way too inconsistent and people get in his head easily.

They have too many dumb players. They need to get rid of Kenyon Martin. They were a team with a lot of talent but with more characters than character. They had enough to do it but ultimately didnt. The refs screwed them over in game 5 but they made it worse. Instead of overcoming it, they used that as an excuse to become unraveled. They should have known that the officiating might be slanted. Its not like bad officiating in the NBA is a surprise.

I'm fine with Smith... you have to be patient with him. His game has grown leaps and bounds this past season and I expect that to continue.

I do agree, they need another big. Hopefully this playoff run lit a fire in Kroenke's belly. He was willing to spend two years ago when they brought in AI, but the team did not get better and he tightened the purse strings. Now the team has a chance to do something, and flexibility to improve... they've still got the trade exception from the Camby deal if Stan would be willing to pay the tax again.

I'd like them to find a starting center and have Nene slide over to the power forward spot, where I think he'll be more effective. He's a pretty good center but he doesn't handle the physicality of it all that well at times. Kmart will have to swallow his ego and come off the bench, and with him being a defensive specialist these days that role probably suits him more.

Anthony Carter has run his course. They have to bring in a new backup point, someone who can be trusted to run the show so Billups minutes can be reduced. Carter shouldn't be brought back even as a 3rd PG. It's not that he's horrible all the time (only some of the time), but he's one of Karl's pets, and Karl, while he's a good coach, has a very bad tendency to fall in love with certain players regardless of their weaknesses. Who can forget how much he loved Boykins... he was mad when he was traded and he wanted him resigned when he was a FA the following season. He also wanted the FO to resign Najera over JR Smith when there was only enough money to sign one of them. Sometimes you just got to take away these guys he falls in love with like you take a box of Krispy Kremes away from someone on a diet.

They need to dump Martin. Was there an actual reason for him to lock arms with Gasol? He just does too much dumb stuff. He's amazingly one dimensional for a guy who has been in the league as long as he has and he also does a lot of stupid stuff. They need to shop him hardcore. You make a solid case for Nene at the 4 though.

I would like to see the Nuggz take a look at mike bibby. Hes a pretty good 3 point shooter and veteren point guard.

I think they're stuck with Martin for at least one more season. He's got two years left on his contract... when there's one year left he's an expiring contract and his trade value will go up. As it stands he's still a vastly overpaid role player. I'll give him some credit for working his way back from two micro fracture surgeries to become at least that much, but it's going to be hard to get anyone to take him unless they are trying to dump a worse contract off on us.
