I find it funny when the loser tries to gain some sort of healing by pulling for some team in another conference, to do what his favorite team couldn't.

You should wish Lakers luck, hope they make Denver look better by winning.

Lakers fall apart and stink that just means nuggets not as good as you hope they are.

If Nuggets had won I would have hoped they won it all.

I root for my local teams and love all them, including the Nuggets. I've followed the Nuggets through the bad and the very bad and the tiny glimmers of glory. I was pulling my hair out during the Paul Westhead experiment. Elation when they beat Seattle and almost did it again in round two against the Jazz. Heart broke when Mutombo left. Jumping up and down when they ended the 96 Bulls winning streak. Hoping year after year they'd win the draft lottery. Being devastated when they landed the 3rd pick in 03 thinking it meant Darko would be a Nugget. If it takes another 24 years for them to make it back to the Western Conference Finals, they are still my team. If they have another 11 win season, they are still my team.

If Kobe fell off a cliff and it took 15 years for the Lakers to win a playoff series 90% of Laker fans would be pretending they were whatever team Lebron signs with when he's a free agent all their life. You're obviously among them, you proved it beyond argument with this post. But hey, congrats on choosing the best team to root for bud. Puff out that chest and grunt about it. You probably became a Bronco fan around 97-98, eh?

Nothing is required to be a fan of any team. You simply become a fan. If you think pulling for a crap team that loses all the time somehow makes you special you are wrong. It just mean your team stinks.

I didn't get in to basketball until after my family moved from Denver. I can remember Broncos way back to being like 5-6 yrs old, but my first recollection of basketball is for sure the Laker/Celtics thing. So yeah I'm a laker bandwagoner from when I was like 10 yrs old.

It's not Laker fans fault we have been to over half of the championships ever played. I mean there is hardly any time you could have decided to be a laker fan where you would not be a bandwagon fan. The wagon is rolling for Lakers all the time.

Go ahead though and keep thinking that because you suffer that mean you are a better fan. Not better just lame and sorry.

You keep thinking telling yourself that. LOL. You can always tell the frontrunners by the degree of trash talk spewing from them. And that applies to a lot of laker fans,...much like yourself.

BTW, football is different, especially for Broncos fans who grew up in that area during the 70s and 80s.

And FWIW, Im actually a Bulls fan. Jordan was the reason I started watching the NBA with any kind of regularity. But its not like the Bulls were without their lean years when he first got there. I remember in his second season he broke his foot and the team barely made it into the playoffs. It was a tough season. But watching Jordan score 63 almost made it worth enduring that year. The point is, even though the Bulls sucked, it wasnt lame. There were still reasons to watch. Whats lame is pulling for the Yankees because you like to win and talk trash. And then when the Bulls started winning championships, it paid off. Being a Bulls fan via the Jordan has actually been very rewarding. Trust me. There are a number of frontrunning Bulls fans but its easy to weed those out. Its pretty obvious when you refer to something that predates their championships and theres no response.

Agreed, as a Lakers fan I ask, why are you playing a D league player in Jones as a starter, what did he contribute, for his position he needs to at least shoot threes. The Lakers were allowed to play there weekest defensive player (fisher) on Jones whenever he was in.

Martin I think still has potential but he needs to dominate and tends to fall off in games.

Just accept Lakers dominance and you will be the better for it.

Yeah but I was one of those people living in Denver in the 70's, it's just that I was a kid. But that's when you really love things anyways.

No way I could be a laker fan without being a frontrunner. I was 10 in the 80's, Lakers were so good then. But that was my first foray into basketball, so only one team the whole time, just like Broncos.

That gives me the right to be happy despite what all you martyrs think.

Besides us Laker fans have endured quite a few finals losses as well as wins.

Tell the truth what worst, Broncos getting whacked in Superbowl, or losing in the playoffs, or not making playoffs? Nothing hurts so bad as being so close, and then losing.

So Laker fans have been through more of both then the Nuggets fans.

Nuggets lost the series in Games 1-4.

They played well in those games, while the Lakers weren't at their best. As the underdog, you need to take advantage when your opponents aren't at their best. They didn't really do that, and came away from those games at 2-2 rather than 3-1 up.

I'd put it down to lack of experience as much as anything. Lakers know how to grind out wins in the playoffs, Nuggets don't.

This is the first time I've ever said this, but good post lex!

There are way too many Lakers fans here. A few of them may be legit but clearly most are front runners and wouldn't be Lakers fans if Kobe Bryant wasn't in the mix. Whatever happened to rooting for the teams from the town you grew up in? Or at the very least rooting for the same teams your whole life?

I've been on the east coast since leaving the Denver area just before starting high school. When the Broncos won their first Super Bowl all of a sudden I started seeing Terrel Davis and, to a lesser extent, John Elway jereys everywhere I went. It p*ssed me off since I knew most of them were Johnny come latelys. Just like a lot of the Lakers fans popping up on a Denver Broncos message board.

I remember coming out of the Pepsi Center after the Michael Henderson game and seeing all degenerate, front running show boating Laker fans whoopin' it up like they dominated the whole game. I've come out of the Pepsi Center after many a loss to better teams and seen many fans of opposing teams... even some great franchises like San Antonio... none of them carry themselves with the lack of dignity and class that Laker fans do.

And the fans in this in this forum have confirmed and affirmed that reputation beyond argument. Couldn't have made it clearer if they'd tatooed "poser douchebag" to their forehead. If you carry on like one, you are one. That's how it works. Sorry.

I like Karl, but as I watched the game yesterday I really started to feel like Jackson doesn't really get his due. It's not as simple as just rolling the ball out and letting his players do their thing.

It just seemed like as the series rolled along that LA figured out Denver more than Denver figured out LA. Phil deserves credit for making the proper adjustments, and ultimately his players got on the same page and got the job done.

If I did that, judging but the ones here, I would think every Nuggets fan is a sore losing, ref blaming, conspiracy theorist with no sense of humor and a general lack of logic. I could assume all nuggets fans are stupid enough to say the best closer in the game is unable to make a big shot at the end of the game and than defend it even after I had been pwned by video evidence.

Those are strong statements to make about a person over a little playful trash talking, especially a person that you don't even know. Saying that somebody lacks call and dignity and is classless is really questioning them as a person. Like, they probably cheat on their wives, lie to everybody they know, and are just all around bad people. That's what I think about classless people. I think people who say that people are classless because of the way they cheer for their sports team is putting way too much on it. That so called classless person could be a great person. A person who does community service, holds down a good job, supports his family. So good people don't talk trash about their team? That's silly. So I guess this board has a bunch of classless poser douchebags when the Broncos beat the Chiefs. Every Bronco fan here talks trash to the few Chief fans after beating them. And I guess all the Nugget fans are classless too, because a number of them are saying some pretty crappy things about the Lakers, and if the Nuggets had won, they'd be talking as much trash as the Laker fans around here are. And part of the reason why the Laker fans here are talking so much is because the Nugget fans talked some much leading into the series, and during the series. So they get beat, have to take the heat that they dished out, and now Laker fans are classless? Makes no sense.

As unpopular as it is to say it or think it, Chauncey is far from blameless.

Chauncey's totals against L.A.: 39.7 percent from the field, just 22 points total the final two games.

Q. How long do you think I can keep milking this "Mr. Big Shot" gimmick without anyone pointing out my nasty habit of disappearing in deciding games?
-- C. Billups, Denver

SG: Chauncey! You're alive! I thought you had died after Game 4 of the Lakers series; what a relief! Anyway, I give you credit for bringing this up. You no-showed in Games 5 and 6 of the 2003 Eastern finals (playing injured, but still); the entire 2004 Eastern finals (Detroit still won); Game 7 of the 2005 NBA Finals; Games 5 and 6 of the 2006 Miami series; and Game 6 of the 2007 Cavs series. You inexplicably disappeared for the first four games of the 2008 Boston series. And I mistakenly thought you had passed away after Game 4 of the 2009 Lakers series. That's an inordinate amount of no-shows, no? I vote that we change your nickname back to "Chauncey."

And the coach deserves a healthy helping of blame as well.

Q: I keep getting crap about how we blew the Lakers series, how we didn't have any inbounds plays, how I kept waiting to call timeouts, how I didn't come up with a single adjustment, how my substitution patterns were incomprehensible and everything else. Why doesn't anyone realize that this was all part of my master plan to replace Mike Dunleavy as the coach and GM of the Clippers? How else am I going to impress Donald Sterling and get a $30 million deal to murder his franchise through the mid-tens?
-- G. Karl, Denver
