History Channel running these Monsterquest stories...supposedly this one on Pike's Peak...anyone ever heard of this before? My dad used to hunt Elk but I've never heard him mention anything like this. Sounds like a story made up to spoof out-of-staters with...or is there actually something going on up there?

Well in 1936 the story goes that 2 miners were prospecting for silver near where would now be called lake Morane. The set up camp and went to sleep. Around 2 AM they were awoken by something going through the camp. So they headed out with rifles expecting to confront a bear. What they astonished both men. Before them was a 12 foot half bear, half man, half pig creature. MAN BEAR PIG. Since then it has only been spotted one other time, by Al Gore.

This is no joke. If manbearpig has returned we all have to be on our highest alert. I'd rather wrestle Rosy Odonell then have to tangle with Manbearpig...........

Monsterquest, for the most part, is a pretty cool show.

I'm still waiting for them to make Coast To Coast AM into a TV thing ala the Howard Stern Show on E! a few years ago........why not? If Noory won't host it, Amesj will!

These Monsterquest shows are actually re-runs. They had them on last season also and same old thing, nothing ever concrete on anything. Amazing how every video captured is so blurry you can't get an accurate view of anything. Bigfoot is a fricken joke. No fossil's, no rotting dead bodies, no hair fibers or stool samples found that prove anything, no clear and accurate video, nothing.

As for the Pikes Peak creature, that was my back yard growing up for 10 years. I've hiked that mountain and all around it many a time and never seen anything. A deer once in awhile but not even a bear or cougar.

Did you see the one where they tried to get "witnesses" to identify the sound of the monster by playing random animal noises? ROFL!

Oh, how about the one on the New Jersey Devil...............hahahahahaha. This family swore they saw a flying Devil with wings and it landed on their house. They were totally sure it was not anything alive known to man. They had a clear view of it, even though it was dark outside and snowing. A film crew went to the house the next day and there were tracks on the roof, larger then a normal bird stride. But experts said that bird don't always walk, the jump sometimes, and they said it was nothing more then a big owl.

People need to quit smoking the hippie lettuce man.

Well, all you have to see to believe is this theorized tetrapod ancestor that was discovered by science relatively recently, and thought to have been extinct for a long, long, long time:

Coelocanth!

This doesnt lend creedence to the idea that there are monsters in the woods behind your cousin Eddie's trailer, but that there are scores of unrecorded species out there that have yet to be identified. It is currently understood by our own mathematical models that there are millions of undiscovered species.

There are wonders out there. Man has not mastered knowledge like he thinks he has.

True, to some degree. If you are talking about rare fish that live on the bottom of the ocean trenches, or microscopic celled creatures. But as you said, don't go believing there is a bigfoot hiding in a cave up on the mountain. An animal that large, being that numerous, according to the facts that his has been sited on every continent about 100 bazillions times, would leave some trace of existence. There would be fossil's left for us to discover, unless the all elusive bigfoot destroys their bones after one of them dies, as I've heard some enthusiasts state.

Scientists have found all kinds of undocumented species in Borneo and the surrounding region in the last few years.

Usually they spend much of the time telling you what they're about to do in looking for the monster, followed by "eyewitness" testimony of someone who saw the latest beast, then it's commercial time and when they return they repeat what they're doing to find something. They never show you any real evidence, just speculation.

Rumor has it this thing has been seen around Colorado lately but it's probably just more sensationalism:

Tropical rainforests and/or third-world nations are the major undocumented areas...as well as the frozen caps of the earth and the deep benthic areas of the oceans.

It is understood that most undiscoverd species are probably arthropods...which are pretty astounding in their diversity. They occupy every niche.

Not to mention all the caves yet to be explored in the southern USA. Some say maybe 1000 miles or more could still be left to find. You don't want to even think about how many manbearpigs might be down there.

I live in a rural part of the mountains. I don't even leave my house without a 44 mag it's so bad around here. If you are planning a vacation this summer I'd recommend Vegas or Disneyland instead of the Rocky Mountains.

That show is so lame. They couldn't find a monster if it threw rocks at it's film truck.
