believe me, its just that.

companies are getting their employees used to "no annual raises" and "cutting costs wherever possible" and "no more 401K matching or tuition reimbursement"

it will never go back to the way it was.

I haven't spent much time on the Mane the last few years, and I wonder what happened to some of the cheerful, Up With People types, like an old-timer Hotrod that used to be here a lot. Expand or die...Recession or not, if you ain't expanding, you're contracting. This is the prime time--while everyone else is paralyzed with fear--to get creative and get busy.

The government is there only to tell you that life is hard, times are tough, and you probably can't get by without them. F-'em all.

IRS gave me $8000 for buying my first home. Free. No payback necessary.

Recession frickin' rules!

In all fairness though, that money sits in the bank waiting to pay my mortgage for 6 months if I lose my job because of the recession.

At work, they told us they are having "rolling furloughs". Meanwhile, i'm basically white collar day labor.

The guy telling all of us subcontracted-twice-up-the-ass-people, tells us how much he feels our pain and if we all work together - we'll get through it.

Meanwhile, the main company is getting their contract pay for us, and then turning around and ****ing us over.

**** these mother****ers with a ****ing **** stick of holy****ing**** that was a rough liver ****ing that just came through my ****ing ear.

One of my contract employers is having trouble getting paid which leads to him having trouble paying me.

He just asked me today to handle some edits for some insurance company's site who is surely screwing over their clients...they are afterall, an insurance company.

I responded politely that my work for him was completed until I received full payment for work already completed.

I don't know the exact dates, but buying a home in 2008 would have netted a tax credit of $7500 (technically it's not even a credit) and it would have had to be repaid over 15 years starting in 2011. $500 a year.

In 2009 however, buyers get an $8000 credit and it does not have to be repaid at all, provided they stay in the home for 3 years.

If it makes you feel any better, the only thing you missed out on was essentially an interest free loan. Still, not a bad thing, but it would not have been "free money".

Sorry bro...:pity:

But hey, grats on your home! :peace:
