I saw his highlights on NFLN I'm pretty sure he played mostly for the Ravens, this is a travisity.

And on another note call the President because the Broncos are killin' the Patriots.

He deserves it, my favorite Shannon play was the 1998 comeback vs KFC in week 13, he caugth that last TD to complete the comeback. I remember watching the ball go up and leaping into the air for joy before he came down with it. He was money!

An interesting tidbit: Sharpe owns more receptions, receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, Super Bowl wins and Pro Bowl selections than any of the seven tight ends enshrined in the Hall of Fame. He was named the first-team tight end on the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team as chosen by the Hall of Fame Selection Committee members.

If he doesn't get in :pity:

Good heavens ... how did they not enshrine him in the HOF immediately?

I don't understand those people.

He had more receiving yards than Winslow, more TDs, the same YPC average and won a couple of SBs. He did much of his work with a great QB, but pretty much being the only real weapon the team had.

If Winslow is in, Shapre HAS to be in.

I don't think that you or anyone else who follows the Broncos ever will.

i made a post about that a year back. it was a top 10 tight end thing, they had him like #4 with about 5 minutes of raven highlights and 30 seconds of bronco highlights. it was sad.

Never in doubt. He was robbed by HOF this year and should get in next year.

Yep...if he'd played for...say.... Dallas or Washington or the Giants, he'd have been in on the first ballot, no question about it.

Congrats to the best TE of all-time. Man, that guy was such a monster. Just a flat out monster. I'm very happy for him and hopefully the HOF is just around the corner for BigPlayShay.

The odd thing is Denver has to be a bigger media market than Baltimore.

Congrats SHARP!

and also congrats to SHARPe! Best thing is he is going in on Orangemane weekend. Bad thing is that I never make a kickoff at any of the home games so someone drag me in on time for the ceremony. I got the jersey and now wonder if HOGAN is going to be early to watch him get his congrats?

The Barrel man was before kick off...but I'm almost positive Elway was at halftime.

From the article linked in the first post:

The ceremony will take place on Sunday, Sept. 20, at halftime of the Broncos’ home opener against the Cleveland Browns at INVESCO Field at Mile High.

I just knew someone would bring my name up in this thread ::).

Whilst it is true I never cared for his theatrics, it is a well deserved honor and there's no doubt that he will be a HoFer in the very near future. That said, what absolutely sucks about this is that it could create a run on the Cleveland game tickets and securing the seats that I've come to expect and enjoy might become a problem as a result. We'll see I guess.
