I will only get out to see one movie this summer. Which one should it be?

Star Trek
x-men
Other?

BTW I hated the Watchmen, Obscene, Dark, with a convoluted point. Create a Nuclear Holocaust to prevent one?

Thanks- Saved me $15.00 for that one. I had forgotten Terminator. I watched the TV show a while but It got old. I can only go so long with hopelessness before it gets off the DVR

LOL Hilarious!

Asking me to limit myself to one summer blockbuster is about as painful as asking me to not watch any football in the fall. It just doesn't compute.

Well for Blockbusters I think Terminator and maybe Star Trek (a little iffy no matter how good it is, just not my thing). Other: maybe The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, Public Enemies, The Ugly Truth, All Good Things, Funny People, When In Rome, but at this point, nothing really a must see..

ANd why are they making another HAlloween and Final Destination...
Rob Zombie's Halloween remake was better then most of the craptacular horror remakes like Friday the 13th, but it sure doesn't merit another one. Why can't people find new things instead of beating stories into the ground?

Yes. Complete garbage. Good news is a Deadpool movie got greenlit and Reynolds claims they are going to stay true to the books. In the same convo he said a lot of the real wolverine story was sacrificed for the sake of the film, so it may be legit. Deadpool is a very cool character, and I think reynolds fits him perfectly.

I read the same and it made me feel better. Reynolds as Wade Wilson in the beginning was just pure win, so I HOPE that's the case... BUT I also read they're going to keep the "power absorbtion" power... and if that's the case, I'm going to take someone at the Fox studios hostage.

Lame. I don't know what was wrong with a disfigured nutso jokester that can heal from just about anything. Who wouldn't like that character! Thats what killed the Wolverine movie for me. I could almost take the sabretooth brother thing cause they spelled it out in all the commercials, but the Deadpool thing totally killed it for me. One of my favorite characters.

Star Trek was good. Not great. The villain lacked depth and probably REALLY sucked for anyone who didn't read the preview comic book that explained his backstory.

I will say Karl Urban was AMAZING as McCoy. Aped DeForest amazingly well. Chris Pine was kinda meh for me as Kirk. Quinto was good as Spock. Not great, but good.

Leonard Nimoy is awesome and a national treasure.

You shouldn't think logically in a movie anyways.

First, I agree, Hollywood does screw up comic book characters a lot, especially tearing my inner child to shreds with the X-men movies, so bad if you grew up on them like I did.

Second, wtf, Iron-man was an EPIC movie. That kicked ass.

And for the one movie to see, I'd vote Transformers 2.
Terminator I'm iffy about like I was with Wolverine.
Star Trek is good, but people will always say so and so isn't like this guy, or that guy, or that guy, etc.

Watchmen was nearly line for line a perfect recreation of the comic book, except of course the ending, I know some fanboys complain about movies straying too far from the comics and now it seems some didn't like that it so closely mirrored it. Wolverine wasn't that great at all, but better than the last X-Men movie...I haven't been a fan of Bryan Singer's X-Men but honestly it's one of the hardest comics to convert to screen. Iron Man was dead on and the best Marvel movie made since Spider-Man 2.

I just got back from Star Trek and it's worth the time, good movie didn't really give you too many chances to catch your breath it starts out with a bang and you don't even realize two hours have gone. Chris Pine did OK but nobody pulls off the Kirk like the Shat...They found a unique way of rewriting the 40+ years of Star Trek lore without rewriting it...sounds confusing but once you see it you will understand.

Terminator looks like it's off the freaking chain nasty...not pumped about Transformers or GI Joe...Transformers just cause it's hard to accept the changes these are not the robots I remember as a kid and the last GI Joe trailer with the Joes in Iron Man armor leaping off of rooftops confirmed its suckiness to me.

I rarely if ever go to the movies anymore. Until they come up with the quality of the Godfather, my all time fav, I don't see the point. I just wait until it comes out on cable and then see if I want the DVD. But I'm very interested in seeing Angels and Demons. Loved DaVinci Code, but Angels and Demons was an even better book. I know I'll probably be disappointed as the book is always better. Some of the trailers appear to follow the book though. My son is taking me next Friday as my mothers day gift.

That's fine and dandy and all, and hopefully the comic was a lot better, but the movie legimately sucked. Hard.

I don't know if you know, but that "Comic Book" won an award second to the Pulitzer in importantence.

For those of you that plan on seeing Transformers 2, get ready for the Michael Bay 360-slow motion shot.

I read the same and it made me feel better. Reynolds as Wade Wilson in the beginning was just pure win, so I HOPE that's the case... BUT I also read they're going to keep the "power absorbtion" power... and if that's the case, I'm going to take someone at the Fox studios hostage.

I wouldn't worry tomuch. remember in the movie they called "Deadpool" a clone. So he'll come back in some form.

Great for the comic writer.

However, I saw the movie, and when you have a bunch of skinny dudes (AND rorshack was not only skinny but also a midget) and a tiny chick with no super powers kicking the **** out of everyone in sight... and the rest of the movie is a blue dong all over the screen...

Yeah, that's when I tune out. No believability... even for a "Superhero" movie.

Blue dong wasnt ALL over the screen. Just half of it.

I liked Watchmen but the Blue Dong was a bit much.

Oh yeah. I could have done without the full frontal.

I saw fast and furious and it was good, not the best(1st one was) but definitely up there. Also looking forward to Johnny Depp's new movie "Public Enemies", I did a research paper in college on John Dillinger so I'm interested to see how the movie covers his life.

Inglorious basterds looks interesting, Quentin Tarantino and WW2 should make for one hell of a combination, true he really hasn't had a good movie since Pulp Fiction but he is still pretty creative and should take this plot somewhere.

But hands down...transformers 2, June 24th I'll be there for the opening of that movie, trailer looks unreal and I haven't been this pumped to go see a movie since Pirates of the Carribean 2 came out.

I'd rather buy the movies at discount a couple months after they come out. This guy has great deals and I've never had a problem getting my dvd's. You can buy them with case or at a discount without case. He usually has weekly specials...something like 4 dvd's for $22. The best deal I've found out there! Just thought I'd share.

Anyone see Angels and Demons? I read the book a few weeks back, and was wondering if it was any good??

I went last Friday and thought it was much better than DaVinci Code. Having read the book I lowered my expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Of course I could make a list of what they left out or changed but they got the gist of the book. There was only one major thing they left out that I felt was crucial to the movie and should have been included. I won't state what it was as it would give away a good part of the movie. My son who didn't read the book, really liked it.
