Well is anyone really surprised?

Writes Myers:

One NFL source insists Favre can't peacefully retire until he finds a way to get revenge on the Packers. He wants back into the NFC North so he can face the Packers twice. The Bears traded for Jay Cutler and the Lions drafted Matthew Stafford. Hello, Minnesota.

"Favre can't stand Green Bay," the source said. "He wants to play Green Bay and say, 'I told you so.' His bitterness is creating this. I think he's calling Minnesota. I think Minnesota is talking about this as we speak. You haven't heard the end of Favre. No way. He is bionic. As long as somebody will let him in, he will play."

Somewhere in a far off land, John Madden finds the company of a box of kleenex and lubriderm lotion to be both appropriate and pleasant.

Brett Favre and Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress will meet later this week to discuss the possibility of the quarterback returning to the NFL, ESPN.com reported.Favre asked for and received his release from the Jets last week. The 39-year-old Favre left his future open with the disclaimer “at this time” in a statement affirming his retirement.
Minnesota would expect Favre to participate in offseason minicamps and training camps, which he did not do last season with the Jets, ESPN reported.

I really dont mind Farve wanting to play. The guy loves the game and he should play as long as he can.

What I dont like is Bus Cook who may or may not have driven Farve to these fiascos and I dont like the 24-7 coverage by the media regarding Farve.

I also dont mind if he goes to the Vikings, then perhaps they will have a shot at beating the Bears & Cutler.

i dont mind that favre keeps playing. i do mind that he keeps retiring then coming back to make hte media spectacle continue and to try and force his way onto certain teams.

I hope he does come back jus because they're in the Bears division and I will be rooting for the Bears to lose every game this year. Favre to the Vikings slightly increases the odds of this happening in my opinion ;)

He never had surgery to repair that throwing shoulder. How can he be effective?

Now here is the bigger question.

Does Madden come out of retirement if Favre does?

lol

It does make the Vikes a dangerous team for sure

just handle the Bears both times and we are 2/16 of the way there

Hoodie Jr. allready traded any chance we could of gotten Mt. Cody or either QB's.

He aims to show how he can make the next Tom B. into his protoge.

I was thinking the same thing! He also has a bicep tear like John did, although his doesn't seem as serious.

Even Favre ain't Elway...acceptance is hard. :strong:

Still, I want to see him come back and stumble around, thus ruining all self respect and legacy. And of course, throw the game ending pick that prevents the Vikes from going to the playoffs...;)

Dude's pathetic, he's the like the thing in the swamp that won't go away...a slime coated hand rises from the muck...

Witness the fear!
Experience the horror!

See the terrifying return of...

FOUR THE BORE.

This is GREAT.

What I want most is for Favre to keep tainting his legacy MORE and MORE. I want him to be an utter laughingstock and be eventually FORCED into retirement in shame without a shred of dignity. That's what he deserves for malingering in the league way past his prime for the sole purpose of STEALING Elway's win record. I want him to PAY for that. I definitely enjoy seeing him tarnish his own legacy, he deserves unshirted hell for stealing John's record.
