Who ya got?
I say Manny on a TKO in round 5--too much foot & hand speed (like Mayweather) for Hatton.

Anyone watching it online?

Pacquaio, but it'll be closer than most people think. I think Mayweather in Hatton's corner will make a big difference. This one goes the distance and Pac wins unanimously on the scorecards.

I have no idea who to pick in this fight. Pac Man is awesome but Hatton has been a great fighter at 140. The only time he has struggled has been when he has moved up to welterweight, where he edged Collazo and was ko'd by Mayweather. He has pretty much dominated at light welter with the exception of his upset win over the great Kostya Tszyu to gain his first world title. That being said, I am going out on a limbo and picking Hatton in another upset. :boxing:

I don't think I have ever been more wrong, at least you picked the right fighter. Hatton was wide open for those hooks. Pacquiao was just too fast and he has obviously carried his power to the higher weight. I was a little skeptical of his win over a weight drained De La Hoya but he is now, without a doubt, p4p champ. Good guy, too.

Same here. I learned my lesson so many years ago. Now, I just watch it on HBO the following week.

I thought Many was going to win the fight all they way. I like Hatton but to me, he is just a busy up tempo slugger/worker with not that great of a skill set or speed. To this day I still cannot believe he beat Kostya Tszyu. I think Tszyu was finished as a fighter and just didn't realize it yet and it was a perfect set up for Hatton. Give it up for Tszyu though, at least the man knows when to retire, unlike some people I know (uh hum, cough cough, Golden Boy, urrrhhh, uh hum, cough).

Maybe I should of phrased it better. Yes, he did wreck De La Hoya, but Oscar was a shell of his former self on that night. Weight drained, slow and over the hill. That fight didn't convince me that Pacquiao could be dominate at the higher weight classes. Manny started out as a Flyweight. Light Welterweight is a big jump from such a small weight class. It wasn't that I necessarily doubted him, I just wasn't totally convinced. Now I am.

I think this is somewhat true of Hatton himself. Fighters with his style don't last very long in the sport plus the fact that he drank a lot and ballooned in weight between fights was going to catch up with him sooner rather than later. Pacquiao, on the other hand, keeps getting better. He used to rely almost solely on his left handed power but now shows that power in both hands. I would love to see him beat Mayweather but styles make fights and Mayweather will not be handled like Hatton was. Ahhh, listen to me...what the hell do I know? I just picked Hatton to win for f#$k's sake!

I hate Mayweather as much as the next guy but he will NEVER get handled, maybe not even beaten. He's got the fastest hands period, and he has alot of boxing skill. Technically he is more of a solid all around fighter then Pacquiao. It would be a great fight but I think Mayweather would take it on points.

While you're right about the conclusion....

But you're wrong on the fastest hands.

Hard to tell but the last shot looked almost like it either caught him in the neck or right smack on the lowest part of the chin. He was out, Manny put him to sleep man.

Good strategy from Manny's camp. Let Hatton come in, shorten up the shots. Normally, if a guy has pretty good defense you see Manny lunge for shots quite a bit, almost jumps sometimes. Not with Hatton, his gloves were so low every time he wanted to step forward and mix it up and that's bad news. He doesn't have the hand speed to just open up like a Mayweather or something. Hatton should watch Winky fight and learn something. When you're a slow puncher, you need to keep one glove up when you throw the other.

Why does everyone here think mayweather would fight pacquiao??? Mayweather will just retire after this next fight. not like he hasnt ducked a few fights in his career before. i have much repect for mayweather and see him as one of the greatest yes, but to say the greatest no...because he has ducked fights and stayed away from people who had real legitimet shots at beating him. i dont see anyway he takes a fight with pacquioa.

It was the first time media men were allowed to get video clips of Ricky Hatton while on training in Manchester.
The British boxing superstar will be leaving for the US Sunday (Monday in Manila) and will resume his rigid workout there in preparation for the May 2 showdown with Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas.
Before flying for the US, the 30-year-old Hatton will be watching the non-title match between younger brother Matthew, and fellow Brit Ted Bami in Altrincham, England on Saturday.
With barely five weeks into the much-awaited fight, Hatton is not bothered about being overweight. He is 154 pounds as of Tuesday and he needs to shed off 14 pounds more.
"I'm a lot lot better. I'm taking shots moving the head, jabbing. I think the tape they've been watching, they've been watching the old Ricky Hatton. So they (Team Pacquiao) have to work," said Hatton.
Even Hatton's trainer, Floyd Mayweather, Sr. is confident that his ward can taper down to 140 pounds without a hitch. He added that he is amazed at how his ward is showing discipline and renewed strength.
"I think that Ricky has better skills. Ricky will be backing the Pacman up against the ropes or in the corner, he'll (Pacquiao) be having a lot of problems right there," said Mayweather, Sr.
Both Hatton and Mayweather, Sr. just laughed off earlier statements by Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach, who said that the Brit's chin will be Pacquiao's target. The Filipino's coach said the chin is Hatton's weakest link.
"Keep talking (laughs)," said Hatton.
"Anybody can play jokes with himself, you wanna fool yourself and try to fool the public? That's fine," said his coach.
Mayweather, Sr. believes Hatton will prevail in the end. He said that an aggressive but careful Hatton will face “the Pacman” come May 2.
"At the end of the day only one fighter will be standing and i know who it's gonna be. It's gonna ba the Hitman Hatton," he said

WOOPS!
