Sean Jensen of the St. Paul Pioneer Press advises that, according to Vikings coach Brad Childress, rookie receiver Percy Harvin isn’t present at the team’s weekend minicamp because Harvin has been hospitalized in Atlanta with “extreme dehydration.”

Childress made the revelation at a post-practice press conference.

The team’s decision to select Harvin with the 22nd overall pick in the 2009 draft sparked controversy, given his positive marijuana result at the Scouting Combine and a reputation for being a bit of a handful.

And so it begins............

And these are the bad-character-wary Vikings who reportedly nixed a Jay Cutler trade? :oyvey:

how the **** do you get dehydrated in Minnesota in May?

I wonder if it was stupidity or drinking because one would think most athletes at that level know about basic needs for fluids to stay hydrated

maybe he was sick, I want to know more now

LOL Minny or his agent told him don't report until you are clean. They will have a private doctor run his pee until all the weed he smoked is out of his system, then he will report.

Think about it. Extreme dehydration? what do they do for that in a hospital? they hook you up to an iv and flush your system. perfect if you are full of weed. This guy is a joke! I hope he is out of the league in couple of years. Minny drafted a ricky williams in this guy.

One team making questionable decisions in the draft doesn't excuse our team's own questionable draft choices. If that were the case, only the raiders would be criticized.
