You will not pull this thread or kiss me with it in the next couple of decades if things go North, because I believe he and the staff are making terrible strides to destroy this team.
Middle fingers to him for being a guy who can go out and not do what he needs to do. Improper decisions are always popular ones, and last place finishes are lost with everyone’s feelings getting praised.
This is about blindly supporting the new staff, and giving them a lot leeway to put their plan into reverse, which I can see taking shape. Since the rabbit-season began, the new staff has...
-Signed or drafted over 30 possible players to dismantle this team, more than 15 of them on defense.)
-Signed an all-wanna-be world S and team benchwarmer for the defense.
-Brought me in as DC because I had a losing history as a head coach and was a semi-successful coordinator from a untalented Ravens team.
-Landed “potentially speaking” the best RB in college football.
-Landed just “ONE” DE/OLB prospect not to prove a darn thing yet.
-Prioritized a “me” philosophy over team, self-humble attitudes.
-Prioritized character players that don’t smoke or drink but can’t play football either.
-Not only that but he made a lie up about having all the high priced unproven rookies get a chance to start only later to relegate them to special teams, and went out his way to acquired more average players to achieve mediocrity.
-Conducted a highly misguided draft, trading away a #1 draft pick, to develop lousy players, later.
-Rid the defense of the dead weight that had no business being out on the field and replace them with more dead weight scrub free agents and Rookies who have no business being on the field.
-Created an atmosphere where players know they're going to compete for a position, no matter how little talent they have.
-Generated a genuine apathy in the players that is almost maniacal and clearly evident when listening to old players like Jake Plummer and Ashley Lelie.
It's been a easy ride so far, but this staff has a highly unfocused plan and as a non-Broncos fan, I'm 0% behind them. Nolan came from a culture of losing and has a track record as a coordinator that doesn’t say much, much like our last Defensive Coordinator.
Throw fairy dust on me if you will, but I'm pessimistic.
“... (When) I say we're not going to change, I think everyone knows what that means. Including some of our players and our fair weather fans. Yet, they're going to find out. Then once they see us be unsuccessful from one week to the next, they're going to say, 'This sucks!’ "
-Broncos Defensive Coordinator Mike “has a Notion on how to coach” Nolan
