I'm just curious why we let this guy go. Why we traded for a guy like Quinn when we could have gotten a potentially solid 3-4 DE.

How many here would take Gilbert over Quinn strait up?

Ayers will play DE for us. He is not a pass rusher at all, but great gainst the run. Therefor we do not need another DE at all. Our other DE is Marcus Thomas. We do need a NT though!

I am hoping we daft Vaughn Martin and sign FA NT Gabe Watson

Not according to Il Duce's last press conference.

Hate to break it to you but they called up Ayers and he said that he was told he's expected to be our outside linebacker and occasionally play DE.

That would mean Doom is gone. Nolan will find a way to have our best rusher...rush the passer and a great run stuffer, stuff the run. Ayers had like 3 sacks his senior year.

I was thinking Gilbert would be the pick at #48.

Gilbert is too raw and might never develop. He's got great physical skills but I'd rather wait until the later rounds and take guys like Zach Potter, Will Johnson, or Rulon Davis who actually have some technique development to go with lesser but still solid athletic potential.
