View Full Version : Seriously, how awesome is Al Davis?

No matter what you think about our draft (I liked our selections, but think we overpaid), the Raiders was worse. You gotta love them taking a second round speed guy with bad hands in the top ten (because of a good 40 time) and then taking a projected 7th rounder-undrafted free agent with their second round pick because (you guessed it) a good 40 time.

Hilarious!

Long live Al Davis!

Al is certainly predictable. But there are Cutler fans that would rather have him than Bowlen/McDaniels making decisions.

I believe you're stealing credit for that word from James Lipton, you charlatan!

Also, I love Al Davis. I want to fund some sort of medical research to ensure that he lives forever. And perhaps even look into cloning him and spreading his managing "brilliance" around the rest of the league.

Michael Mitchell looks good on film, so he's got that going for him.

That's a pretty assinine statement. We'd rather have neither of them. Although McDaniels hasn't had much time, so far he has made some pretty questionable decisions.. we'll see.. but just because one team has it really really bad doesn't mean that we should be happy with mediocrity.

Thanks for admitting being a Cutler fan over being a Bronco fan. You were happy being mediocre when crying about Shanahan's firing and all. 1 playoff win the last 10 years. Yippee.

the best thing about AL is that year in and year out he is good for some horrible moves. it should be fun for faider fans watching Crabtree ripping it up just across the bay.

I'm a fan of a lot of things.. doesn't mean i can't root for two things at once.

I don't know why you are trying to argue with me about this. Quit sniveling, you got what you wanted. Better yet, McDaniels got what he wanted.. Complete control.

Well, this is what a draft looks like when you give complete control to a 32 year old. Hope it works, but it looks less promissing with each passing day.

So does old age, the brain goes first.

Great picks AL.

Al is trying to pass a new NFL rule for overtime play. Instead of playing a new quarter, each team will now pick 10 players to run a 40 yard dash with the fastest net time deciding the tie breaker.

I loved the silence on NFLN when the the Raiders' picks were announced. Gruden looked like he was suppressing laughter on the 2nd rounder.

The fact that my team is doing some minor rebuilding was depressing me, but the old psycho Al made me fee better today. Seriously, the Raider nation is suicidal right now. I feel kinda bad, and the espn guys pretending to rifle through the media guide looking for their second round draft pick was hella wrong! The local news outlets are reaming them. Long live Al Davis!

BTW- Rep for everyone on this thread, sept for the guy that was trying to harsh our mellow with the "Al davis would be preferred as GM" talk. That was just asinine...

Who cares we f'd it worse could've traded all our picks for DHB and it would look better than what happened today. NUC-U-LAR HOLOCAUST.

Can't remember where I saw or heard it, but the bears were going to take Mitchell at 49 (I think). He even said that's where he thought he was going. Hopefully, both teams will have been wrong.

The 2nd round safety does look pretty good on tape, if its true that the bears were gonna take him 2 picks later, then it makes sense. Looks like Sean Taylor on tape.
