Per ESPN clip after Rome is Burning. Denver is not looking to trade up but planning on staying put saying they feel comfortable where they are at.

Please No Brady Quinn.

The CNN "Truth and Rumor" made it sound like if you could not trade up, we would try for Brady Quinn. I just think this would be a colossal mistake.

I think the source of that was a McDaniels press conference this afternoon. They played a short segment of that on KOA radio a few minutes ago - McDaniels said somthing like they are comfortable with pick 12 and don't anticipate moving up (though he left open the possibility)

Did you miss the part where Bowlen traded him after Cutler blew him off? That was all Bowlen, IMO. Not McDaniels.

I think Mcdaniels just having fun with a button. You know when you get a new gadget and you press all the buttons. He's is no seeing how everything he says makes the sportswire. He could tell a reporter Broncos flying in a mystery DT from the Island of Samoa who has never played football but is 400 pounds and runs the 40 in 5 flat, and it would make news.

Must be kind of fun when its your first time at controls........Except when you piss off your qb.

McDaniels says Broncos don't expect to move up
By Lindsay H. Jones
The Denver Post
Posted: 04/24/2009 04:26:42 PM MDT

With his first draft as an NFL head coach less than 24 hours away, and with speculation building that the Broncos might make a move up the draft board to pick quarterback Mark Sanchez, Josh McDaniels today said the team has no plans to move into the Top 10.

The Broncos hold the No. 12 and No. 18 picks in the first round of the draft that begins tomorrow at 2 p.m.

"I think we're in a great spot. I think we have an opportunity to get two players right away that can impact our team," McDaniels said. "So yeah, we feel comfortable with where we're at with those two selections. But something could come up that might make a difference or change your mind."

McDaniels said the team has received calls from several teams with earlier picks to gauge the Broncos' interest in moving into the Top 10. He also said the team would not trade both of their first-round picks.

"We won't do that," McDaniels said.

This is the first draft for McDaniels as a head coach and for Brian Xanders as a general manager, and the team has a variety of needs, especially on defense. Those factors make Denver on of the more intriguing teams. McDaniels seems to be well aware his team is at the center of plenty of speculation.

"This time there's a lot of things that are put out there that maybe aren't true and there's a lot of things that probably are true that aren't being said," McDaniels said. "We'll have to see tomorrow. It will probably be an interesting first few hours there."

Translation: If we can't get Quinn through some convoluted nonsense, we'll try for Sanchez despite everyone saying it isn't possible. If that blows up we'll say we never intended to get either qb, and are happy with our current battle between Orton and Simms.

The Brooklyn Bridge is available on thirty year lease for 2 million bucks.

Broncosí Interest In Sanchez Is Pure Smokescreen
Posted by Mike Florio on April 24, 2009, 10:25 p.m. EDT
Itís becoming widely believed in league circles that the Denver Broncos have no actual interest in USC quarterback Mark Sanchez.

Earlier this week, offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and G.M. Brian Xanders went to California for a meeting and a workout with Sanchez.

As one source put it, the Broncos seemed to be going out of their way to make it known that Xanders would be attending. Coach Josh McDaniels ultimately didnít attend, supposedly due to a migraine. There is some skepticism as to whether he was unable to go, or whether he simply opted not to tie up an entire day in the hopes of perpetuating a ruse.

McDaniels has made it clear that they wonít be trading the No. 12 and No. 18 overall picks for a chance to move into the top ten. But he hasnít ruled out packaging a non-first-rounder with the No. 12 selection in order to move into the lower reaches of the top ten, if Sanchez slips.

Current thinking is that the Broncos wonít be doing any such thing, and that they possibly are simply attempting to ensure that Sanchez will be picked before No. 12, which then will help to force farther down the board one of the players whom the Broncos actually covets.

We will never ****ing know because everyone was ****ing spinning everything to cover their own ****ing ass.

McDaniels handled it poorly.
Cutler handled it poortly.

The fact that people are so adamant about proving their side right is hilarious.
