Jake Long is better than any tackle on this draft board. Chris Long is better than any defensive end on this draft board. Matt Ryan is better than any quarterback on this draft board. Darren McFadden was a better prospect than any running back on this draft board, as was Glenn Dorsey at defensive tackle. Most NFL talent evaluators would take Jerod Mayo, the best linebacker in the 2008 NFL draft, over Aaron Curry, the best linebacker in this draft.

Anyway, here's Gosselin's top 100:

I agree it's a weak class. I'm still curious to see how far any of the USC LBs go in the league. This year's prospects will probably do more to shape could nfl teams' perceptions of the program than any prior.

I find that this draft class is really weak at the top, but I feel like you can get better players this year if you draft in the late 1st round than you could last year. Last year seemed very top heavy, but relatively weak after the mid-teens.

Given the state of our defense, a few top defensive picks, even in an "off year", is going to help us a great deal.

That's Gina Carrano, MMA fighter. I'd let her put me in a rear naked choke if you know what I mean.

He's reinforcing why I said we should trade one of the top picks for a #1 next year and build a war chest for Bradford.

Problem with that is getting another team to bite on that, or finding a GM/HC who needs to make a splash this year to keep himself in employment.

there's no way we'll know whether this class is weak or not for a few years...

opinions are like...well you know how the rest goes...

Its funny that you guys call this a "weak class" as if the experts have always accurately picked the stars year after year. No one really knows anything.

Sure there is. They're talking about prospects. These things have already been evaluated. One can easily say that this draft class has less upside and fewer top tier prospects than last year's class.

You are correct in that the draft is not a science and obviously way more picks miss than hit and that in itself can't be determined for a few years from now. But that's a totally different thing than evaluating the talent pool in the draft.
