Well I was listening to the Herd and he read through some of the picks, and said at 18 who we picked but not at 12..So I am hoping an INSIDER posts the whole 1st round.

If Orakpo drops to 8, we need to trade up. Not to mention Raji is there too.

McShay last night said that his one can't miss prospect in this draft is Ayers. Last year when asked it was Jared Mayo.

I too really want Rey! Our defense would be great if we drafted Raji or Jackson, then Rey. In the second and third we would need a DE or NT, whichever not taken in the first and an OLB to replace Reid. The rest is just gravy. From this draft we need 3 defensive starters.

Think about it:
DE: Thomas, *Jackson
DT: * Raji
DE: Kenny Peterson, Calton Powell, Draft another DE later

OLB: Doom
ILB: * Rey
ILB: DJ
OLB: Reid

CB: Goodman
S: Dawkins
S: Hill
CB: Bailey

I think Jackson would be a day 1 starter.

Slade

From this draft I would be thrilled if we got 3 defensive starters...NT, DE, OLB and a RB starter. The rest we need is depth C, CB, QB, WR, S. And would be BPA.

If this happens we would be set for next year and would have the luxury of drafting the BPA the entire daft which would be a dream situation!

Well it's not quite as bad as jamming a plastic fork in my junk... but it still sucks.

Slade
04-24-2009, 02:15 PM
I don't understand why you all think this would suck. We would get a stud DE, and a maniac LB. The LB granted is not a position of need since we have Andra Davis, but Rey is an animal!

Slade
04-24-2009, 02:17 PM
Heck we could even move DJ to OLB in this situation!

OLB: DJ
ILB: Rey
ILB: Davis
OLB: Doom

That is a pretty decent group of LBs!

Robert Ayers is instinctual, explosive, and has a knack for finishing plays.

I would love that pick.

There likely will not be equal value. Cutler is probably the next big thing...especially after ESPiN latched onto the drama and turned him into the next Favre.
