Yep, now the Falcons don't have to use their 1st rounder on Petigrew.

I'm a little disappointed, though, because I was hoping the Falcons would jump on a Scheffler deal. Personally, I would rather have given up a 4th for Scheffler than a 2nd for Gonzalez.

I hope they take Crabtree. Then Oakland goes with Maclin.

Having two WRs go that early may force someone else to over-value the next WR on the list and pretty much ensures that one of the targeted DLinemen will drop to #12.

Chiefs got owned in that trade. They are giving up a Probowl guy (not really showing any signs of letting up) for a 2nd rounder next year? I dunno about that, I think he is worth a 2nd this year. Pioli must've thought next years draft was better bc that is tough to swallow if you're a chiefs fan and you need picks and more players NOW.

Rodgers and the front office haven't come out and said everything is ok, between them, so it would be worth a shot. we get a player who is good at a position we need, and trade a player we are probably going to trade anyway.

Pioli must've thought next years draft was better bc that is tough to swallow if you're a chiefs fan and you need picks and more players NOW.

I disagree totally. No matter the year, it's impressive by itself to get a 2nd round pick for a player that's 32-33 years old. Favre didn't even bring that much in return for the Packers (they got a 3rd, IIRC), and he's a starting QB -- far more important than a TE.

Plus, regardless of how well Gonzalez continues to play, he's been very clear that he's only going to play another season or two. That's the key here. Atlanta is clearly going into a win-now mode to surrender a first-day pick for a guy they'll probably only get two seasons out of. But if it works, good for them.

And next year's draft is expected to be much deeper. Carl Peterson would have taken a 3rd this year and used it on some guy who'd be a 4th rounder in a better class. Depending on where Atlanta picks next year, in terms of talent a 2nd rounder might be like a late 1st rounder in this year's class.

Nice trade for both sides, IMO, assuming it pays off for Atlanta. But I'm glad Gonzalez is gone.

Rodgers has probable 1st round value. The Broncos would probably have to pony up a 2nd plus the (Iron?) Scheff to get that done.

Plus, I don't know what system Mangini is running there on offense, but if it's similar to the Pat's spread then I would assume the Browns wouldn't want the (Iron?) Sheff either.

That's true. There is a long term benefit and since its already well settled that you won't do anything this year, it doesn't really hurt you....well...except from an emotional perspective. I'm sure you are sad to lose him given what he meant, but overall, this is the right move by Pioli (who appears to be infinitely more competent than anyone we have). More picks is always a great idea when you aren't contending immediately.

I emotionally detached myself last season when he started throwing a hissy fit.

Gonzo is a great player but he has never really gotten me all that excited. I've cheered more for Larry Johnson, Trent Green, Dante Hall and Priest Holmes over the years.

I am positive we will replace him with another experienced target soon enough. I would not be shocked to see Boldin in KC.

What was Dante Hall? A flash in the pan returner for 2,3 years? Trent Green was an above average QB for 5 years? They did more than a HOF TE? A bigoted POS RB who had a good 3-4 year window contributed more than a 10+ year HOF TE?

I know there is a natural tendency for fans to rag on players who have a brain and don't swallow everything the FO does and who leave on mediocre to bad terms, but its really stupid. Hell, our fans have done that to Jay in favor of some stupid outsider who has never accomplished anything of value for US, merely because he's the symbol of the team (to them at least). I AGREE with you that it was a good trade on the merits, but its kind of weak for you to give him backhanded slaps on the way out after you sucked his dick for 10 years.

You know, as a Broncos fan, who sometimes watched Gonzales make plays that would have me throwing remotes at televisions, I cannot believe I am telling a CHIEFS fan to appreciate a former chief player. Exciting to you is listening to your "all world" running back criticize a HOF coach in Vermeil because he is not black and could not communicate with him. Or maybe its watching Trent Green throw FIVE picks at Denver. Or maybe watching Holmes hobble around with a nearly broken neck. TG acted like an adult in the kingdom of 3 year olds. The diaper reference to some chiefs players is accurate.

What they need to do is somehow use that 2nd next yr, package with 2nd this yr, move back into bottom of first round and try and get Pettigrew. Don't know where he goes maybe too high for that but who knows.

If you want to know if TE can get open you should check the 3-cone and the short 20 yrd shuttle times. If those numbers are sort of slow, usually those TE don't get open. IMO 40 yrd time for bigger TE is over rated. The may go 4.6 in 40 but only in a straight line. What gets a big guy open is being quick in short areas and being able to wiggle a little as you hit the seam.

You don't by chance have his whole combine workup do you.

Claythan... you're a sad bitter man and you'll likely die a sad bitter man.

you are an epic piece of sh*t

a self absorbed, worthless, piece of sh*t

make it forever, we won't miss you or your crap

you say don't take the internet so seriously, then use the internet to justify your actions?

you were given a second chance to redeem yourself by a lot of the members of the board, and you just went and kicked it in the mouth.

Many of us I have tried to reach him in the past, I just did but only to try to get him to walk away from this. He is what he is a sad little person with serious issues. He lives his life through jocks and movie stars. A bitter bystander in life and as I have said before shame on his dad for allowing him to become what he is.

He was over on orangemane making a bet with a poster. Dont remember the bet. He makes many of them. Sig bets. Bets where he leaves for a month if wrong or the other poster leaves for said month if they are wrong.

One day he makes a bet for 50 dollars with a poster I wont name. That poster lost the bet. He paid gochiefs 50 dollars. What seemed like a few days later, gochiefs makes another bet that he will leave the forum for a term I dont remember. He lost. He never held up his end of the bet. On sevaral occasions after that he did the same thing. Until finally no one would bet him.

He had no problem taking money out of someones pocket. But he couldn't even stay gone (which costs nothing) for a few days. I told him then how I felt about it. I even explained the cost in terms of self respect that he was paying. I asked him to return the 50 dollars. He never has.

Instead, he crowed about the forum like he thought it was funny. Had a sinature that read "welcher and proud of it". Never has manned up. It's been well over a year.

Now he's crying that I'm picking on him. he still doesn't realize it's the cost of a lack of integrity that he's paying. Couple that with practically cheering my eventual death and the picture should become clear.

I understand it's a Bronco forum and all. But the make up of a man should not be sacrificed simply because of sports rivalries. He has shown over and over what he's about.

He goes through life with a feeling of entitlement that he hasn't earned. That's why he's in mommas basement, that's why he has no confidence with girls, that's why his opinion of himself has become dependent on something as detached as a football forum.

All prices for the lack of integrity he chooses not to have.

1. Wow, Bob, here's the thing, while you come on here and have stated some really immature things, the things you stated go beyond that. Really, you decided to go with "the he started it argument" Are you twelve or just stupid? Defending yourself or your arguments means supporting those arguments with actual facts, not telling someone I hope you die or the variations you chose. That's not giving it back with both barrels, that is being the world's biggest douche.

2. As for your stuff on Tony Gonzalez, you are an idiot. Last year he said he wanted to be traded. So what? If you want to identify an whiny beyotch, try that misognystic moron Larry Johnson. (let me define misogyny for you: woman hating, can't get laid deadbeat). Tony was/is class on and off the field (he saved a guy's life for God's sake, while LJ just beats up women). He gave KC 12 years of his career. He was your most consistent player, that's why he holds all those records and goes to the Probowl all the time.

3. When you talk about Gonzo that way I can only guess you are sad about the trade and this passive aggressive nonsense is your coping mechanism. Grow up. The trade made sense for everyone and Tony deserves the chance to get at least one playoff victory before he retires. I hope he gets it. The Chiefs need to rebuild, this will help them. That you prized LJ, Dante Hall and Trent Green over him makes me realize you aren't much of a real Chiefs fan. While all those players contributed in their own way, Tony was by far and away one of the best fixtures on that team. Priest was also great to watch in his prime (certainly a better player to watch and respect then LJ, who doesn't have the common sense God gave a rock). I still think Tony was the best KC had on and off the field. I wish him well.

Of course the fact that you would wish actual ill on someone in your own fanbase simply because of a difference of opinion or for any reason says you aren't much of a fan, much of a person and beyond immature. I really hope you get it together because the world doesn't need anymore inhumanity in it.

All I siad the other day that got you all riled up was "It's cute that you think you have a football opinion of any reasonable value. You are the anti-knowledge.

For this, you justify the things you said?

I called you out on your lack of integrity over a year ago. We have jousted ever since. I have made no secret about my contempt for you. Dont think for a second I wouldn't say anything I have said to you over the last year or so to your face. Evreything I have said is accurate and reasoanable. I have held you accountable for your actions and you dont like it. I'm not the coward you are. You can try to come off like a victim if you like. After all, it's the mind set required to never be held accountable. That's how you can still look in the mirror after draining yor mother. She is entitled to a life after raising her children. But you're entitled to that life....right?

In fact, I have tried to talk to you on a man to man level beind the scenes. Through PMs. You dont appreciate none of it. None of it hits home. I have tried to reach out to you not because you are entitled, but because I have a genuine hope that you will see the light. I figure life in your shoes is an inner struggle filled with a lack of self esteem and self respect. That's a tough life.

You're not a victim. You make victims of others. There is no offense that I am guilty of, or that anyone else is guilty of that warrants mocking someones terminal illness.

You act as though you cant be held responsible for your actions because of what someone else does. You dont see anyone else crossing that line do you? That's because no matter what soemone else does they are responsible for how they handle it.

I dont care if you wish I was dead. it wont make it come any faster, and it wont effect my quality of life in the mean time. You see, nothing you do or say makes up who I am, or how I carry myself. Those are my decisions and not a reflection of you.

Do you understand what I am trying to say? I dont make you weak. You were weak to begin with.

I don't see it as arguing at all. Crazy is just laying out the facts that any reasonable adult already knew. These are lessons that people are taught as a child and carry in adulthood. Clearly, bob doesn't and never will get it. No, but clearly he doesn't have Tony G's lateral movement skills. Tony G wasn't the fastest guy, though, so your post makes a lot of sense.

For TE I really think it's all about short area quickness and agility. Tony G very good at making moves in a short area that gain seperation from linebackers, but he probably won't out run the defense so it doesn't matter his 40 time not a 4.5 etc.

Danial Graham a physical beast but IMO he lacks the short area quickness to ever be a focal point of an offense. Still he can do some things.

Now Sheff he had best short shuttle at his combine and it shows, he separates rather easily from most linebackers or safety's.

It won't be easy for the TE who replaces a legend but Chiefs will probably feature Bowe more now.
