A summary of some notes on the Broncos mini-camp from the Denver Post: Josh McDaniels has the team practicing at an unbelievable pace, including getting physically involved in actual drills.

The four starting linebackers were Darrell Reid and Elvis Dumervil on the outside with Andra Davis and Wesley Woodyard on the inside. The Post speculates DJ Williams will replace Woodyard upon his return from injury. Also, Jarvis Moss and Tim Crowder are practicing as linebackers. Correll Buckhalter worked as the 1st team R-Back. Eddie Royal, Jabar Gaffney and Brandon Stokley were the starting WRs. Champ Bailey, Peyton Hillis and Brian Dawkins practiced without contact while. Selvin Young, J.J. Arrington and Ryan Torain, Williams and Boss Bailey missed practice while rehabbing injuries. Andrew Pinnock was excused for personal reasons.

Finally, the second link from the Denver Post reports that the Broncos plan to expand their kitchen as McDaniels noticed players lost an average of 8-9 pounds from the start of camp to the end of the season in 2008.

This is why they signed so many RB's in FA. Many holdovers were coming off injury. You have to go into the minicamps and TC with healthy guys, even if it means over-signing. Not to mention you get a chance to see these guys close up and that may alter the draft strategy.

It was wise to sign the FA RB's. It's not like they were close to the cap and had to be judicious about who they signed.

The soap opera will continue. There's gonna be a ton of posts wondering when Hillis, Marshall, Royal, Clady, Hamilton, Kuper, Scheffler, Torain, Elvis, any good player will be cut or traded.

He was playing most the year at 80 to 90% with a hip injury. Just had it fixed only a month ago.

No bigger than Baltimore's last season.

No bigger than Baltimore's last season.I'm not sure, I think Bart Scott is 240-250. Elvis and Darrell are 260 and 288.

I wonder if Boss is gonna get a look at SOLB, where Darrell was playing this weekend. Lots of people here don't like Boss - maybe for good reason - but he has started tons of games at SOLB, whereas Reid has never started ... he's been more of a special teams guy.

Their OLB's were Suggs and Jarrett Johnson (who i believe was a DT before that). bigger dudes.

They're experimenting a bit, want to see who they have and who they think they'll have to draft.

Found this on former UDFA Darrell Reid: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darrell_Reid

Reid was arrested on disorderly conduct and trespassing charges early Sunday, February 8th, 2009 after refusing to leave a nightclub's parking lot.[2]According to a police report, Reid, arrived at Club Oxygen about 1:30 a.m. as an off-duty officer was helping clear the nightclub's parking lot because the club was at capacity. The officer told Reid he could not enter the nightclub, but the Colts player said he knew the owner and should be allowed to go inside. When the officer again asked Reid to leave, Reid reportedly backed up his vehicle and nearly collided with another car. The officer then told Reid to immediately leave the parking lot. But, according to the report, Reid replied, "I don't have to because I am a football player with the Indianapolis Colts." The officer replied he didn't care who Reid was and ordered him "for the last time" to leave. Reid was then arrested by the officer after he left his vehicle in park and showed no sign of pulling away from the parking lot, the report said.
Nice to see the character issues are a thing of the past. Where's IHOP when we need him? ???
