The Eagles have acquired Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters from the Bills for the 28th overall pick in next week's draft, FOXSports.com has learned.

Buffalo will also receive a second-day pick in this year's draft, as well as a late-round pick in the 2010 draft.

Peters held out before the start of the 2008 season, missing Buffalo's entire training camp and all four of the team's preseason games. Peters ended his holdout before the regular season began with the Bills never giving in to his contract demands.

Peters, 27, has made the Pro Bowl the last two seasons, and was an All-Pro selection in 2007 Even though he was not as good as Rookie Ryan Clady.

Hopefully this pushes another tackle into the top ten. We need some falling pass rushers.

Thats a great trade considering they have 12 picks in the draft they can trade in the first round and plus they have a Pro Bowl LT now Good Trade Eagles

Wow, and they have to give this guy a huge contract, and they woudn't pony up for Dawkins. Hope those dozen or so sacks he turnstyled last year are worth it!

Peters sucked last year but joined the Bills the night before opening game. Did not participate in training camp. I think he is over rated and the Bills scored big on this trade.

Imo this hurts us I was looking for Philly as a trade down partner

we have plenty of picks so trading down makes no sense anyway...

i like the move because it may increase the chances that Buffalo drafts an o-lineman with their #9 pick...thus leaving more defensive players for us to choose from come pick #12...

11th pick you mean. They could go OT but, Buff tends to surprise.

The guy gave up more sacks last year than our entire line combined. The Eagles got ****ed.

In exchange for Peters, the Bills received the Eagles’ 28th overall selection of the draft, a fourth-round pick in this year’s draft and a second-day pick in next year’s draft.

Wow ... I didnt even stop to think what this might mean for the Bills #11 pick. There could quite possibly be 4 tackles off the board before we pick. The Clady pick looks better and better every day!

Oh God! We will probably trade Clady to the Eagles in a 3way with KC for Cassel.

Raji might actually be a possibility now the way things are shaping up.

That is - if the FO wants him.

That's pretty retarded thinking, right there. Has no humor value whatsoever.....

That's a horrible trade for the Eagles. They got absolutely raped. Peters sucked all last year.

i think their thinking is that they need to keep McNabb healthy this year and they are taking a last shot with this regime at making a run....Westbrook's days are numbered as are McNabbs and Reid's so getting a high priced left tackle at least gives them another piece of this year's puzzle.

See, this is another reason I don't get the doom and gloom around here...if I'm an Eagles fan, I'm $hitting my pants right now thinking about the future. THey are going to have a LONG rebuilding process after the next season or two and they have no building blocks (Deshaun Jackson??)

what
the
hell

What are the Eagles thinking?

Peters was garbage last year.

This trade was beyond stupid.

Wow......this is Raider level of fail here.

I can't believe how stupid the Iggles are. They bring in Peters, a disgruntled and overrated LT when they could draft a ligit LT in this deep LT draft, and they don't go after Boldin in AZ.

Why not trade for Boldin (yes they have to give up two first round picks) and draft a LT instead? There's a distinct possibility that a good LT will still be available when they pick in the 2nd round.

with this happening we lose a potential trading partner out there. Philly could have traded its way up for a OT, since #13 WAS would pick a OT. I was thinking philly will come up from its #21 and try to take out #12.. damn now that will not happen.

By the way did i say this trade sucks A$$.. With this kind of trade it looks like Clady is worth 3 1's...

Now that he is out of the AFC, I guess the Pro Bowl will have to find some other mediocre LT because ours is not worthy. F'em.

Wow, and I thought we got hosed? Eagles just gave a first round pick for a LT that absolutely sucks.

IF we are looking to make a trade, the Bills having the #28 is actually better than Philly IMO. If he is really on the block, I'd be willing to bet we could offer up the #48, a late pick and Scheffler for the #28...or toss in Doom or Moss. Money is tight in Buffalo and they may be cool w/ not having 2 #1s.
