View Full Version : My cousin is back in the show!

He just got the call yesterday. He was about to get the start vs David Price and the Durham Bulls when they told him to catch the next flight to Pittsburgh. He is going up as a reliever this time. Bobby Cox must be sick of his lousy bullpen. James is still young so who knows how long he will stay up but me and the fam are all pretty excited and I just thought I would share it with y'all.

I am actually feeling like a bum lately because my other cousin, Matthew is probably going to get picked up by an NFL team. He was ranked as high as the #4 FB at one point before he had surgery. The NYG, Pack, Panthers, and the Raiders (please God no) are all high on him.

Matt Quillen 6'0 250 Fullback

NEW MEXICO: Arguably the best blocking fullback in the Mountain West Conference...No. 1 job is to clear the way for two-time first team all-MWC running back Rodney Ferguson and shifty Paul Baker, but he is also a solid receiver out of the backfield and has good power and deceptive speed as a ball carrier...a tough player who can punish defenders in the run game...a load at 6-0, 250, giving the Lobos a powerful 1-2 punch out of the backfield when paired with the 234-pound Ferguson...

Thanks guys! Both kids are really down to earth and all around good guys. You would definitely root for em if you knew them.

I really did get hosed in the gene department huh. I can't even hit .400 on my mens league baseball team and they're playing at the highest level... well, Matthew will soon, hopefully. I can still kick both their asses on the golf course though.

Can you imagine if the raiders take him! What the hell would I do? I mean, I can cheer for him only but I would want to buy his jersey if he were on any team but that one. Is there any way we would pick him up? That would be amazing!

I'm a Braves fan so this kid better get our bullpen in order, it's been struggling for awhile.

It's gotta start coming together and when it does the Braves will be gangbusters.

Always good to see a local kid make it big. Good luck to both!

Awesome, good luck to them both (Go Braves!!) - unless one's a dirty raider, hope he loses every game if that's the case :)

IF a family member becomes a raider you disown them until they are not a raider, that is the Bronco way.

Your cousin had the same exact line in his game today....at least the Braves won this game.

He is not gonna be up for long if he keeps this up. Hopefully Cox will be patient with him because he has never relieved as a professional. I am concerned because he has come in at times when there has been no pressure and still struggled.

yup. I told my cuz that same thing when he was drafted by the Red Sox years ago. Then again, I already disowned him during football season because he was raised up wrong as a raider fan.
