When new Bears quarterback Jay Cutler dropped the ceremonial first puck, there was the real possibility grown men were going to start crying. As it was, they sang the Bears' fight song.

The crowd was at a fever pitch. It was good and loud.
And if Jim Cornelison's stirring, ear-splitting rendition of the national anthem wasn't enough to get the crowd stoked, the presence of new Bears quarterback Jay Cutler for the ceremonial first puck drop certainly was.
Now later Jay is supposed to SING the seventh inning stretch?
During today's broadcast of the Cubs-Cardinals game, it was revealed that Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is scheduled to throw out the first pitch for Saturday's third game of the four-game series. Cutler also will sing the seventh-inning stretch, giving Chicago a chance to at least evaluate his musical talent.

Meanwhile...Orton/Simms is generating tons of excitement!!!

As for what Orton and Simms are doing? They both are at Dove Valley learning the offense and working with their headcoach. Something Jay Cutler wasn't doing, and from the looks of it isn't even doing now in his new city. That's unless drinking all night, hanging with celeb-u-whores and being the seen at every public event in Chicago is now considered learning the play book...

Of all the teams he could of been traded it to it had to be the Bears...All my family and friends are bears fans (from living in Illinois for 8 years)... All I hear from my dad is "LOVE THE CUTLER" even though living in Denver, and him hating the broncos, ragged on cutler every chance he had. I wish cutler fails hard in Chicago, and is out of the league in 4 years...

I love watching the jilted lovers post there 'hilarious' baby pictures again and again and again and again in these threads..or call a guy every bad thing they can think of when less than 30 days ago they were ready to induct him into the Hall of Fame. High comedy.

The reality is...this SUCKS. Seeing him in off the field events in Chicago sucks...and it will be even worse when he wins a game in the 4th this year...and he WILL win many games in the 4th.

Spin it however you want...blame it on whomever you want.....bottom line is.. all that happened this off season is that the Broncos were weakened.

Draft like a God, Josh.

i don't want a number 1 pick in any draft. top 10 is fine, but number 1 is a bad spot to be in contract-wise.

Chicago does have the EASIEST Strength of Schedule in the ENTIRE NFL.

Saying 7-9 is wishful thinking for a good draft pick. Just not realistic seeing as how they went 9-7 last year.

Funny thing about the 24X7 at Dove Valley. When the players do that it's called being a robot or extreme dedication. When I do it, it's called stalking. ;D

Truth is Jay left because I kept trying to boob jack him and he didnt' understand what I meant. He kept yelling, "I am not a boob and my name is not Jake." Guess he thought he I say boobJake. Then he would get that mildly constipated look he gets and would hide behind Brandon Marshall...it's all so odd. At which point I would just flash Brandon and he would smile :twokisses

No $hit? But who do you think the blue collar guy is between Cutler and Orton? You mix Cutler skills with Orton's work ethic and you have one hell of a QB. I dont think Orton is the answer but if he can give us Plummer like numbers,I'll take it. I just have funny feeling Orton will stack up better then Plummer when its all said and done if he has 3 to 5 years. Dont get ticked off man. I think the offense will be just fine. We still need a load of help on defense.

I know it popular to believe Cutler was playboy that didn't care about his profession, but we all know that not true. There numerous reports that Cutler spent a lot of his off time preparing to be better player - from watching all the game tape at home with Marshall every week, to busting his ass in the weight room with his linemen. Yes he had is problem on the field, like all young QB, but it wasn't because he wasn't attempting to get better.

For Orton, he is on a one year trial deal. If he performs then he might be back, but I don't believe he is the long term. I still believe McDaniels will be looking for QB to grow and put his stamp on the franchise.

The thing he needs from Orton, that he hasn't shown yet, is accuracy. Orton has shown very poor accuracy in his career, especially when you consider the high number of his passes that are within 10 yards of the LOS. You can talk about his teammates being the problem, and that might be true, but the fact is that he has not shown any indication that he can be a consistently accurate passer in the NFL.

his accuracy will improve with better WRs because they will catch more passes thrown their way than what Orton had to work with in chicago.

plus, i'm more inclined to believe that McDaniels will find better ways to utilize Orton than he was in chicago.

It's so very impressive how rational and mature you are being with this situation. You are a model fan and exemplary human being. After all, football is serious business. I mean, it's not like we're watching a bunch of grown men dressed in silly uniforms run around a field throwing a ball.

I hate to break this to you, but sports are not reality. They are entertainment. Like any good entertainment, there are heroes and villains. Our guys are the good guys. The Chiefs, Chargers, Raiders, Cowboys, etc are the the bad guys. Add Jay Cutler to the list. I hope he fails miserably in Chicago. I hope the icy wind of Lake Michigan turns his rockets into ducks. I hope he craps his pants in the middle of our preseason game after getting sacked by Jarvis Moss, and that ESPN dubs him "Poopsy Cutler". I hope he is run out of Chicago by a lynch mob after throwing 30 picks in a year.

Nothing personal, though... It's just entertainment, my man.

As I said - the last I heard - Orton was in and working. I don't sit at the PC and refresh pages all day checking for an Orton Watch or Broncos Watch.

I merely said - I rather him be working than going to a hockey or baseball game. Do I expect him to sit in his house all night every night? No, of course not.

I'm still a Cutler fan - I want the Bears to suck next year only because of the drafting status that will affect us next year. Beyond that - he can go win Super Bowls for all I care. You have to admit while he may not have had a stellar career here he's an unbelievable physical talent so it's going to be interesting watching how his career plays out.

Bandwagon? That's pretty rude. I have an "NFC" team I like, the Seahawks. So what? What's wrong with that? Most fans in here like a second and third teams somewhat ... in fact I'll bet there's another team you like, too. Does that make you a band-wagoneer? No it does not, and I would never say it did.

I am definitely a Broncos fan, no doubt on that. And I don't have to prove it to you.

I like Jay Cutler, too. Love his approach, love his swagger. That probably not gonna change, especially in that he hasn't trashed the Broncos, not one word. I respect that. And if I wanna "adopt" the Bears as another NFC team (NFC as in, the OTHER conference), wtf is wrong with that? You don't have to hate Jay to be a Broncos fan :nono:

Really .. I rub you the wrong way because I have an NFC team I like (not love, LIKE). Are there no other teams you kinda like? I LIVE in Seattle, and everybody here loves 'em ... the 12th man thing is kinda cool.

And that Patriots thing, I guess I'll never live that down. You have it slightly backwards though ... I voted in polls - PREDICTED - both here and on the Pats site, that New England would beat us in that game. People were ticked off that I predicted against Denver on the other site. Naively I thought a prediction was a prediction. Happily my prediction was wrong. ;D

Who are you to say a true fan only likes one team? That's effin' ridiculous. As long as you root for the Broncos over anyone else, you're a true fan and not a "troll-doll" fan. I happen to like the Saints, Cardinals, and now that Cutler is on the Bears I'll definitely enjoy watching those games.

That doesn't make me any less of a fan or less supportive of the Broncos than you. If I happen to like specific players in the NFL and root for their teams, you are no one to judge that and say myself or anyone else is less of a true Broncos fan because of it.

Jay's seventh inning stretch song:

"Trade me off to Chicaaaago,
Trade me off to Da Bearss,
Buy me some Molsons and shots o'Jack,
It's ok I have an insulin pack,
And I'll throw some bombs for my new team,
If they don't win that's ok,
'Cuz it's one, two, three years of suck,

I'm sure Bears fans will love Jay just like Packers fans loved Favre. His arm and playing style makes for an entertaining QB, but I question if a gunslinger can win the big one in today's NFL.

I actually think you need a QB to make some plays to win a SB in todays nfl and I submit the last 3 SB winners as my exibit A. In todays NFL, the rules are rigged in favor of passing game. I believe you can win games in NFL and make playoffs with avg QB (afterall about a third of all teams make playoffs every year and there is lot of turnover) - but to win a SB you either have a very good QB or a sensational defense and solid over all team.

I am not trying to say Jay is a elite QB but only contesting your premise that a play maker QB can't win in todays nfl.

I had a couple good friends there last night texting me.

They said that last night was special,

Hawks 1st playoff game in 7 years,

Cutler dropping the puck,

Havlat with a late 3rd Period goal and the winner 12 seconds into OT.

They said it was a very special night.

Go Hawks!

I actually don't know and that probably isn't healthy.:hitself:

But it was a cheap shot at somebody who is going to be your QB. Wasn't Orton who facilitated the trade, maybe you should support him.

Well, i'm happy for jay because the attention whore is getting what he wanted all along, even more attention. He is probably eating this up and i really think he's going to have a worse year than Orton.
I very well could be wrong but I always had the feeling that Jay was never comfortable with the Elway shadow that was cast on Denver and wanted to be the man. He even mentioned in an interview with Rome just prior to McJay gate that "there's still billboards of him, there's still a presence of him just in the facility. I think it's still John Elway's team, it's still John Elway's town."

I haven't heard if we get any this year.

I did hear that we are getting like 6 early away games which pretty much means we will be getting the 2nd or 3rd team broadcasting crews and no chance of leading any doubleheaders.

You just another troll/twitt/loser that adds nothing to this board, yet feels like you are a major part of it.

Buff he feeds off of being TJ's nuthugging fund drive, yet he's rooted against the team (Like TJ does) and then makes a statement that he has one foot out the door.

Happily my prediction was wrong. ;D

Alright. I got a second nfc team where i live i like a bit too (skins). But they don't hold a shotglass of piss to my love for Denver. Hope that's how you feel about Seattle. And Jay Cutler, for that matter.

This coming from one of the most illiterate douches on the board.

At best, the vast majority of your posts are complete and utter nonsense. If by adding nothing to this board, you mean posting with every intention of having an objective view point on a situation and contributing or contradicting an argument where I see fit (it's called perspective), then yeah.... I add nothing to this board.

I don't expect someone as feeble minded as you to grasp such a thought, as every time an opinion differs from yours, you spew a bunch of incoherent crap and make dim-witted personal attacks.

Just a single question, who in your opinioon add anything to this board? And who decides what "value" is, on an internet message board?

If someone don't like this community there are other message boards dedicated to Denver Broncos, that they can join.

just out of curiosity, what are chicago's official jersey colors? I was thinking maybe its an easy fit for Jay as they also appear to have orange and blue as their primary colors. Maybe they get to wear their orange jerseys more often so that's why he belongs there, orange works for his complexion or something....Please note this was entirely facetious and meant entirely to lighten the mood.

As a wiser poster then I put it, we will not really see the impact to the team until the season begins, of all these off season dramatics and histrionics. Personally, I bear no ill will towards Jay, though I think he could've and should've handled things better (somehow though I think his end desire alwasy was to get traded after Shanny left). As for McD, given a season or 2 we will see how he does. All I know is I would like to see the team become a unit working together again (the OLine an D)and the fans come back together united behind whatever team we field.

Dark Blue is the primary uniform, but they wear the orange alternatives about 4 to 5 times a year. BTW I still blame you for the spice girls, global warming and Hotrod's fashion choices. :wiggle:
