Yep, early reports have the #1 team in both polls left out of the National championship game.

5:30 is the official announcement, but OU vs. LSU is the likely match-up.

I wasn't that down on the BCS until now. USC's destiny was left into the hands of Notre Dame and Hawaii yesterday. You can't tell me that USC is not one of the 2 best teams in the country, yet because ND and Hawaii went down, LSU will get in.

AND AN AT-LARGE BID IS GOING TO THE SUGAR BOWL!!!

How are they not good enough to win their conference, yet the BCS feels that they are good enough to play for the national title? What if Oklahoma wins? A national champion that can't win their own conference? Give me a frucking break!

2006 is the last year for the BCS, I believe that's when it's up for them. Basically, if there are only 2 teams that are undefeated (i.e. OSU vs. Miami) or only 2 teams with 1 loss, then the BCS is obsolete.

Great, we get a traditional Pac-10 vs. Big 10 match-up in the Rose Bowl, but **** that, USC deserves to play for the National Title, along with LSU, the 2 1 loss teams that actually won their conference.

So long BCS, this year ****ed you and your supporters over, go back to the way it was or it's time for a playoff(ala Div. II and Di.v III football.)

well, this is why they should make games like OU/KSU more important than they are. there is no way that OU should have been able to play KSU without anything on the line. you can bet if last nights game meant anything OU would have played much better and harder than they did. thats the BCS for you though.

Despite the thorough beating by K.State, OU deserves to be in the title game due to their season long dominance.

...so I won't. I think the BSC pretty much did all the talking for me to end the arguement over what should be used. This is actually the best thing that could happen to college football. I was overwhelmed with glee saturday night watching OU choke. The only thing that would have been better is if a couple of other teams had ended with only 1 loss. Between listening to the OU homers cry and whine about the ass beating they took, the entire state on suicide watch for 1 night, and then the Clinton Portis show on Sunday, this has been one hell of a weekend.
