View Full Version : McDaniels' challenge: connect with the players

So anyway, I'm listening to Jim Rome on the radio and he's saying something about the Broncos players being ticked off at Jay Cutler.

My man Romey has a great feel for today's sports world, but he's wrong on this one. Yes, the Broncos' players are disappointed that Cutler is gone. No, they don't believe they have as good a chance to win now that he's gone.

But mad at him? No.

If anything, they envy him. And if they knew they could without it getting back to the Broncos, they would high five him on the 16th Street Mall.

Why? Because NFL players seldom if ever have leverage against the front office. That's why, while they never would admit it, the players were on Cutler's side in his spat with Josh McDaniels. And they're happy for him now that he pulled off the power play and landed with the Bears, his boyhood team.

So now McDaniels has a roster full of players who have to be wondering about his competence. Who, having seen how he treated Cutler, must be suspicious about how he'll treat them.

In the end, that has to be McDaniels' first order of business. He has to establish a relationship with his players in the aftermath of severing one with his quarterback.

Success in the NFL, where parity rules, isn't all about assembling talent far from it. It's about motivating players.

i think its funny that people seem to forget how quickly that the only reason jay cutler is gone is NOT because of mcdaniels, its because he locked himself in his room and wouldnt talk to anyone until he got traded. its been stated multiple times. jay cutler tells everyone "i think both sides would have done things differently" however mcdaniels says "i wish we could have been able to communicate with him at all"

mcdaniels stated multiple teams before, during and after trade talks that cutler was his QB, but cutler refused to listen. if he would have dropped his untradeable ego one time he would still be here and still be the starting QB

You must think people here are very stupid. This story would have never escaped this board. It would have generated at least a 10 page thread - at the very minimum.

Take your make believe stories elsewhere newb. You've been busted.

Yeah, I'm sure the guy who joined the board just days ago with an agenda to bash Cutler and promote Plummer has a link to the story of the year - one that would have generated pages upon pages of discussion here that we all just happened to miss because nobody here was watching ESPN or reading any newspapers that day. We must have all been out for a picnic or something.

LOL Oh ok. So Cutler stabbed the kicker and told him "if we don't win it's your fault" and then picked a fight with him in the locker room again later? I've heard some of the locker room stories, but I've never heard that before. Did he punch some old ladies on his way to taking his equipment off? I don't think even the most classless player in the world would try and stab a player, then re-pick the fight in the locker room. I would love to know why this is the first we've heard of this. Hilarious!

You're just butt-hurt because Plummer got himself benched for playing like crap and Cutler replaced him so you hate Cutler now.

Some random message board post doesn't have any validity. If that was the case I am sure some sports writer would of been all over it and it wouldn't of made it past the mane.

It also

wasn't "all over ESPN"
Didn't have a sound clip of Champ saying he's never seen a QB do that before.
Didn't show Cutler "shiving" anyone. (by the way, do you even know what that word means?)
And didn't say ANYTHING about a fight in the locker room.

If you look at Belichick's first stint, and Coughlin's first and part of his 2nd stint, it was trust that killed them. They were good X and O guys, did a lot of the HC gig well, but it wasn't until they understood to build trust and comrade with their team did they succeed.

i have supported plummer, i like cutler.. but i did not care anyone being let go and now i support mCd because he is a bronco... But never have seen such a stupid made up story which was supposed to be all over the espn and then you changed from kicker to WR and you dont have a proper link to even share. If it is so much of a incident, why dont they have one. How come all the bronco fans missed it and you are the only soul to have seen it.

If you dont like someone it is ok. But dont lie for small things.. that will be habit in your life. Now stop posting here.

i wasnt lying about it. and sure i dont like him but im not making **** up becuz i dont like him. this simply started becuz i sed i havent liked the guy since the incident with the other player (which i rememberd it as a kicker but read it was to a WR). and then somebody thought i sed he shanked the guy or some crap. so it rolled out of proportion. now it wasnt the "story of the day" but they did put it on ESPN. i remember watching the highlights of it becuz i was stationed in New Hampshire at the time and was always excited for even the LITTLEST amount of info on the broncs for i never got to see n/e thing on them. just the the giants and new england is all they ever talked about up there. now i looked for as much evidence as i could and only found a couple forum threads where ppl talked about his outbursts of yelling and ripping off his helmet/"arguing" as i sed with team mates. now the way i remembered it it was a kicker. i came on here and admitted i made that mistake... (if i am wrong about it not being Prater) yes im a lil more prone to Plummer than i am cutler but that wasnt an argument that was a simple thread put up becuz of the funny resume i found online and ppl started ***ing freaking out n ****. if you ppl still have a prob with me i really dont give a ***. you get to sit your happy asses at home and drink your beer and watch the team i so dearly love while my lucky ass gets to sit across seas in a month and a half and read about it online... i came here to be a fan of the blue and orange and i dont give a *** what you think or say goddamnit im going to sit here and debate the Broncs!!!

LOL.

IP blocking doesnt work. One, many ISPs have dynamic IP addresses for their customers. All you have to to is reset your modem and bam, you have a new IP. Second, most of these assholes that wont go away use IP maskers or know exactly how to obtain a new IP or sign on via proxy IPs.

IP banning is worthless.

The fact is, there is no way to ban someone from a message board unless you turn off registration. Taco knew this so on my last banning he shut off registration for the entire month :) Now he may say he didnt, but he did. It may not be because of me, but it was. Conveniently, once that month was over registration opened back up and I was allowed back in.

And since Taco cant shut down registration permanently on this site he cant get rid of Casino or Boob.
