I'm considering going to cheer us on but I'm not sure what to expect. Tickets are free and you can line up the night before but I don't want to do that. I'm wondering how crazy the line is in the morning.

Anyone ever been? What's the story?

NO, I haven't been, but I have the OFFICIAL 1988 NFL draft team phone that was used during the 1988 DRAFT!!! (Ted Gregory--ya' BUM!)

Some background on Gregory

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Gregory

Ted Gregory (born February 11 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/February_11), 1965 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1965) in Queens, New York (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queens,_New_York)) is a former professional (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professional_sports) American football (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_football) defensive tackle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defensive_tackle) who played one season for the New Orleans Saints (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Orleans_Saints) in the National Football League (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Football_League). Gregory was drafted by the Denver Broncos, who infamously thought that he was several inches taller than he actually was. A shocked Dan Reeves (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Reeves) commented "I'm taller than he is" upon meeting Gregory after the draft. The Broncos ended up trading him before the end of his first training camp, and he is now regarded as one of the biggest draft busts in broncos history (if not the biggest).

I just checked NFL.com and they have all the info on it. They just changed the format. You have to be in line by 10:00pm on friday the 24th. They give out bracelets at midnight and then you can line back up at 2:00pm on the 25th to get in when doors open at 2:45. Myself, I bleed orange and blue ( who attended all 16 games last year) and A buddy of mine, who is a jets fans will be there. We are staying at the Club Quarters Rockefeller Center, right next to radio city music hall. PM me for my number and we can chat about what to do in NYC. I will be in NYC at the crack of dawn Friday and will be leaving sometime sunday. We are going to the mets game on friday night because johan is pitching and We want to see citi field.

I used to go years back but it was overrated.. this year would be fun with us having 2 good first round picks but the norm was the Broncos were always in that 20-23 pick range.. My buddies and i would get up at 5am, take train to NYC, get on line by 7am. picks seemed to take forever with the 15 min between picks and then i would wait all day and the Broncos would take Willie Middlebrooks. i would shift through my draft magazine and find out he was projected to go in 3rd round or something.. kinda ruins the experience haha

Ok I guess I'm not going. Not too many people endorsing it here and I'd rather hear the commentary, even if it is Mel Kiper. Fuggeadboutit.

I wonder if Adam Schefter is going to be back with the NFL N for the draft? He is kinda tough to watch the draft with because he calls who they are picking before they get up there. I kinda would rather here it from the Commish then Shefter.

I have been tempted but never actually went inside. I don't pay enough attention to college football to know the picks well enough without doing research after the fact

you can expect philly fans and jets fans to deride their teams' first picks with utter contempt, even if that pick is the next jim brown.

they give you books that scout all the players and tell you a little about them. It has them all pre ranked so at least you can tell if someone is a stretch or not. Should be a fun time. Plus they give you a radio and headphones so you can PICK which broadcast you want to listen to...NFLN or ESPN they have them both on the large tv's there.
