I guess Ken Caryl and Alkire (Ken Caryl Valley) would be considered Littleton... but I'm a Denverite... Littleton (the part I'm from) is horrible, cultureless, uniformly white, upper-class suburbia.

I think the only black people I knew growing up were the Broncos players living in my neighborhood.

I remember playing HS football. There were some luxury apartments across from my school (Dakota Ridge) that would often house some of the younger Broncos players just starting their career. A few of them used to stop by and watch us practice occasionally - Desmond Clark, Denard Walker, Kevin Kasper, Eric Brown... I remember everyone on the team were pissed that year when the Broncos cut Kasper.

I was an effing idiot... Eric Brown came by our practice once after he was fined for a hit (I think against Kansas City). That was the topic du jour, and another of my teammates said, "That was wrong of the NFL to fine you, it was a good hit." I said "Well, it was an illegal hit by the rules, but you obviously didn't mean to lead with your head." I was such an idiot.

I don't know if I want to move back to Denver. I love it, but I'm really planting my roots here in Boston.

Small world, I actually went to High School in Ellicott City. Nottingham's sounds really familiar, is that over by Snowden River Pkwy?

Yes. It was a really cool after work hangout, especially on Fridays. They had the shuffle board game (not the kind that old people play in South Florida), but the kind with the hockey puck-sized metal coasters that glide on sand particles across a long table. We would drink pitcher after pitcher and play that game all night...great memories!!!!

Columbia was a very confusing place to drive at first. The design is cool...small "villages" that can be very convenient for the residents. The only problem is that they are well concealed by trees, so you always miss your turn...then, to make matters worse, you cannot make a U-turn ANYWHERE in the city of Columbia. I used to joke by saying I had to drive to Virginia in order to make a u-turn. ROFL!

A small world, indeed. The only 18 months of my life outside of Colorado were spent in Columbia (worked) & Elkridge (lived). Bought my car in Ellicott City.

I left just before the Browns became the Ravens, so people there were still either Redskins fans or extremely bitter over the Colts.

Ordway, Colo. No one has ever heard of it. Except for maybe dekers. Dekers, I have family in LaJunta and went to school at ojc. How long have you been there?

I think there is some real good ice climbing in Ordway... I spent alot of time in Dekers when I was a kid. We'd go up and spend time in some old log cabins, fishing and swimming (the kids anyway, the parents would be drinking).

Edgewater Inn Pizza ... the BEST! Right there on Sheridan at the west end of Sloan's Lake. Two miles west of Mile High Stadium ....

That's also right where KIMN 950 AM radio was, too .... when I was a kid, KIMN was the bomb.

Yer kind of a mutt, but yeah, the Edgewater Inn has excellent pizza. Carl's also on 38th, Lechuga's, all in that North Denver area.

Born & raised in Denver. Colfax & Colorado. Moved around some since then. We're in Littleton now for the last 8 years, but I sure miss the old days when the high country was so open. Getting very crowded these days.

Ya get asshole Texans like Alec crowding the state that have no idea how to keep it cool in the high country, it really f's things up for everybody else.

Grand Pa was a 45 year guide and wouldnt use a bigger gun then a 20g. and judged about 15 world champion duck call contests. Anyway I hunted mostly public land, cost to much to hunt private and the fly way has changed.

Curious dude. Why the Broncos? What is the connection?

Do you follow the Derry soccer or Gaelic football teams?

None. NFL came on our screens here in the early 80's and just picked the Broncos as my team probably because of Elway. Just loved watching him play.

I dont follow gaelic at all as it's a sport 100% followed by one religion and I'm the other:D

I do follow local soccer though and am a part owner of a club called Coleraine FC who've won the Irish Cup a few years ago.

Approx 350 or so fans bought the club out from under the Taxman a couple of years ago when the club had debts totalling approx $2m.

We have to raise approx $350k a year to pay the players and keep the club running, the average wage of a player in our league is about $350 a week, albeit some of them are paid a lot more than that.

Here's a link to the club's website

I would have gone to Columbine, but I choose to go to Dakota Ridge (during my tenure, we were rivals to Columbine, not really cross-town, more like cross-neighborhood). But we were both united in our hatred for Chatfield and Bear Creek.

Those four teams (Dakota, Columbine, Chatifield, Bear Creek) made up our division those four years (Colorado 5A)... I played free safety for DRHS, and played nickel back, returned kicks and even saw a little time as a reserve WR in the early games.
