View Full Version : UT WR Quan Cosby working out with Broncos this week

Mentioned it on ESPN Radio in Dallas this afternoon.

Projected in the 5th/6th round. 5'8" and 26 years old (played OF in Angels organization for 4 years).

But the kid sounds smart and - though I hate this term - like a football player. He's been working out with Randy White and understands what he'll have to do to make it in the NFL.

So there...I like the guy, UT or not. He's not one of those sissy, pampered Longhorns like the rest of them. Don't tell Chris Simms that, though.

A 5'8" WR? Unless he's the 2nd coming of Steve Smith, no thanks.

I'd rather have Mike Thomas.

we already have eddie royal,, i don't think we need another little guy, unless he balls like eddie does, then I'm all for it, in fact if we could clone four eddies we wouldn't need anybody else for our receiving core

A guy who spent 4 years playing baseball. Sure sounds like "a football player" to me.

Who else? Not a stellar list by any means.

I remember Crosby. He plays much larger than his listed height with good speed too, but on this team, he's just special teams material if anything.

Josh Booty:) Maybe not a ton of taken 4 years, but guys like Ricky Williams played some, elway obviously. I know there are other examples im completely forgetting about...ones that, im sure, had more success

I get the feeling that McDaniels likes his undervalued wr's like Shanny did his undervalued rb's. I was wondering a month ago about what kind of wr McDaniels likes, it seems that one type he likes is quick smart receivers who have lower value because they aren't very tall or 40 fast.

Will he play NT on our D?

Wow, he's almost old enough to play RB for McDaniels. I wonder if he is also injury prone?

The 'Manster' can be seen working out @ the same 24hr Fitness that I do here in Frisco--he has some big boys(Quan not being one of them) coming in with him on occassion. Mr White can still put up some iron too, lthough truth be told, he looks a like he probably dabbles in a little pharmacology......back on subject--Quan was a steady producer in college and can be this generations Mark Jackson to Eddie Royal's Vance Johnson ;)

Bo Jackson was the rarest of exceptions and he only took a year off from football. Deion never really stopped playing football.

I have fond memories of Bo helping the White Sox in 1993. They should have won it all in the strike year, I will take 2005 though!

cubs suck!

Bo and Deion played both sports at the same time. The guys I mentioned, and this Quan Crosby guy took time away from football to play baseball.

As the NFL limits contact on the WR, limits hits on the WR, then you will see smaller, quicker guys become weapons for a lot of teams.

I was just giving a couple players who played both. Just because the guy played baseball does not mean he is not going to succeed in football.

You're right, anything is possible. But of the guys that have taken significant time away from football to play baseball none have been successful at the NFL level. At least none that I can think of.

If we had four Eddies, we wouldn't have to think about keeping Cutler... we could put just about any maner back there to do the job.
