View Full Version : Who Would You Cast to Play Jay in a Movie?

I was thinking of American movie stars throughout history who have personified what it means to be an American hero in modern history. First, there were the cowboy heros - Gary Cooper, John Wayne - who were upright, honest and true blue. Then you had the reluctant, wise cracking American hero, like Humphrey Bogart who kept saying he didn't give a damn about anything, but saves the day in the end. We also had the moral hero, like Gregory Peck playing Atticus Finch. Then you had the Clint Eastwood type. Stoical. Quiet. All business. No bs. Then, I suppose the modern guy is a mixture - the Bruce Willis type - a lot of jokes, a lot of bull****, but comes through when he's needed. Yippie kay yay, mofo. ;D
I'm thinking Elway would definitely be the John Wayne type. Hell, he even walked like him and got nicknamed, "Duke" just like the original. So which American hero would play Jay in the movies?

John Cusack. Sorta whiney, a little too introspective and easily bruised, but still a decent guy when he figures out how to do the right thing.

~*~ Quotes from Eeyore (aka "The Player") ~*~
"Eeyore," said [B]Owl[en], "Josh McDaniels is giving a party." "Very interesting," said Eeyore The Player. "I suppose he will be lying about sending me an invitation."
Eeyore stood by himself in a thistly corner of the Forest, his front feet well apart, his head on one side, and thought about things. Sometimes he thought sadly to himself, "Why?" and sometimes he thought, "Wherefore?" and sometimes he thought, "Inasmuch as which?" and sometimes he didn't quite know what he was thinking about.
"[B]Owl[en] flew past a day or two ago and noticed me.
He didn't actually say anything mind you, but he knew it was me.
Very friendly of him, I thought. Encouraging."
"Don't bustle me. Don't now-then me"
"A little Consideration, a little Thought for Others makes all the difference. Or so they say." said Eeyore
"One can't complain. I have my friends. Someone spoke to me only yesterday." Eeyore
"Nobody tells me. Nobody keeps me informed." Eeyore
