I've had this racing disease for more than 40 years. It's worse than drugs becasue it's legal. Here are a few cars from 1971 until 2005.

Very cool!

Same guages I have in mine. They look good. That's slow work too. You have to take your time.

I'm putting in a headliner and the front and back glass at the end of the month. After that, the interior and a 4 link. Then I'll be driving it. This summer is the summer it get's done.

Today, I was putting baffles in my fab alum. valve covers. They had no pcv or ventilation holes in them. I tries some baffled grommets to keep the oil out of the pcv side. But it keeps sucking oil into the intake on WOT. So I installed a different baffle set up in them.

Now is a good time to work on the car. Summer is coming!

BTW, 10.57? Very nice. What's the car weigh?

i love how a guy posting an update about his car makes everyone feel they need to post their own cars in the thread. this thread is not a "post your car" thread, its a car update thread.

I thought I'd never here the words, "I love those 80's mustangs..." sickening. They didn't bring back the real mustang until the most recent body style.....the only one in between was the Mach 1 series......all others are insignificant IMO

Oh please. The fox bodies (1979-1993) saved the Mustang after the Mustang II debacle. Not only did they save the Mustang, they also brought it back to respectability and have the largest aftermarket following of any car in American history.

From around 1986 until the 2005 model was, in my opinion, the golden years for the Mustang. While the 2005-current models are great cars, I think they made them a little too heavy and a little too pricey in an effort to make the car more upscale.

Thanks - car weighed 3120 w/me and 1/2 tank of gas last year, before the roll bar install. Not sure what it weighs now.

No biggie on the other cars in the thread, i'm a car guy so post away.

Trans is out being rebuilt right now - 3rd time.

The 05 I have I gave 25000 for. It ran 13.5 off the showroom floor. It's about 150 lbs heavier than the previous body. The new Cobra is about 4000 lbs though. The chassis improvements more than make up for the added weight.

I was getting better times with the GT than the Cobra. Even though I was pushing around 350 ponies at the crank in the Cobra, it didn't put the power to the ground as well as the newer 05. The new 05 was 300 horse and could run with the Cobra and it was 150 lbs heavier.

BTW, 25000 for a mid to low 13 second car is cheap. That was with leather, 1200 watt stereo and all the bells except it had the manual trans.

Not bad IMO.

Are you gearing this car up to race this summer? Any good tracks around you?

.

That was the body style I liked and the color I liked in the Mustangs of that era. The only Mustang I liked better was the '66 fastback, I don't need to show a pic do I? Ok, here it is:

The latest generation of Mustangs have some great styling. My uncle had a '66 Shelby 500 looked almost just like the latest Mustang.
