View Full Version : Jay Cutler has broken up with you. Beg for him back here...

Popps

Jay has broken up with you fans, and deserted his teammates. (Those guys that "love him" and that "love playing for him," and that "he loves" so much.")

Aside from demanding a trade when his teammates needed him the most, and the entire organization is asking him to return (read: honor his contract) ... he's said it's time to leave.

Sorry, fans. It's not you, it's him. We've all been there, right? He could have at least written us a dear John letter. Anyway, he doesn't want you back. After all, as he said in his own words... he doesn't want to be in Denver, as things have sort of (quote) "run their course."

So, I figured we needed a thread to crawl on our hands and knees and beg him to come back.... tell him you love him... you can't live without him, however you want to say it. Never mind that he doesn't want you. You'll change his mind! You'll convince him to love you!

Sounds like Coach McDaniels really wants him to join the team, but I doubt he'll snivel... ummm... I mean appeal to Jay to come back with strong emotion. So, I figure some of the fans here can write sort of an open letter to Jay. Sound good?

Who wants to go first?

So, when the front office entertains trades for our pro bowl QB (won't even talk about how idiotic this is, in light of a second-to-last rated defense), it's 'business,' it's not personal. So when Jay, who is getting crap for cash at the moment for a QB of his caliber, wants some sort of assurance he won't be traded the next time McD has a hardon for a different QB, it's NOT business, now, it's personal?

Why the double-standard?

And why in the hell were we looking at the QB position at ALL. What a moronic first move for our new 'coach.'

I think Popps Flops has made 4 threads in the last 24 hours that were simply nothing but trolling and hate against Cutler. I'd just ignore the threads if I were you, as they have no repercussions on the situation and simply exist to stir up more drama and prologue the controversy on the forums.

I've made posts on the Broncos on various boards since the late 80s, and been a fan well before Elway took a snap, so you can shove your condenscending post count up your ass. I've posted on this board under another moniker before I moved away and moved back to Denver, and have participated in many, many threads. But regardless, your post was a troll post, you know it, and I know it. You are just pissy because people have the audacity to side with someone who you apparently hate, instead of siding with a head coach whose first moves, included trading away the LEAST two needed for upgrade positions on the team.

What you see in McD baffles me completely, he hasn't done a damn thing for the team yet.

Had the coach not entertained trade talks, this never happens. We still have a QB. I think the player is in the rights to want some assurances he won't be ditched the first chance the coach gets the chance. But that's neither here nor there at this point... doesn't matter.

Jay is gone, and if the rest of our moves are as brilliant as the first, our defense will still be in the gutter, and our offense will be joining them. Yep. A straight divorce is the best way to go if somebody cheats on you. No way to trust after that.

Unless, like Kobe, you give your wife an eight carat, 4Million dollar ring and do something like this

"As a tear rolled down Bryant's left cheek, he then told Vanessa: "You're my backbone. You're a blessing. You're a piece of my heart. You're the air I breathe. And you're the strongest person I know, and I'm so sorry for having to put you through this and having to put our family through this."

This is not about Cutler at all at this point. No matter what Popps trys to sell as humor in threads like this. The ball is entirely in McDs court.
You want him McD..show him the money...otherwise get on with the divorce.

Most importantly...for the only thing that matters to me in all of this. Put it behind this Franchise as quickly as possible and get the Denver Broncos, win or lose, back to being the Denver Broncos and not the Jerry McSpringer hour.

Part of me thinks you're right, but part of me still holds out hope. I think if Jay and McDaniels could have a conversation without Bus Cook leeching along they might actually be able to make some progress.

I realize that's not exactly likely at the moment, but Jay HAS said he'll be there at least for the mandatory mini-camps. Unless he gives the cold shoulder or has Cook surgically attached to his hip, he'll have to talk to McDaniels one on one there, won't he?

Flowers for Jay?

Sure, give me a little time, and I'll whip up a nice bouquet for him. Deadly nightshade, foxglove, some hemlock for greenery, and voila. :-)=

For that extra special touch, I'll grind up some Viagra pills and sprinkle it across the whole thing. That way when he sniffs the flowers he'll inhale the dust, so he can grow up and be a man about this situation.

Just kidding. Mostly. I think.

But then, if I did something like that for Jay, I'd have to come up with something for Josh, too. I wonder what the opposite of Viagra would be, if Josh truly has his macho on? I know, I'll send him a copy of Miss Manners' Complete Book of Etiquette, so he can learn to conduct himself gracefully and professionally in all situations.

How's that, Popps?

:saywhat:

What are you talking about? If nothing about Jay had come up, who in the world would be complaining? "Omg.. why isn't he replacing Jay!" I don't think this comment would have come from a single person (who didn't irrationally hate his guts). He threw for over 4k yards for cripes sake. He is not a crappy player. No one would have questioned McD for a trade they would not even have heard about, if he had said "Sorry, not interested."

I fully expect he initiated the trade however.

Cutler IS a whiny baby, damn straight. He is petulant, and his agent is a pita. But guess what.. we needed him. I could give a crap less about his attitude. The players liked him, and he produced. The front office can handle the whiny issues, that's their job.

Be delusional all you want, but the reality when the rubber meets the road come next season, whatever QB we do have is not going to be a scoring machine. And our RB situation is hardly glowing. Our offense is going to take a major step down. Will our 'revamped' D compensate? I highly doubt it.

I was looking for some quick improvement to the team. Our offense was FINE. A few tweaks.. it was producing. Our defense and special teams were horrible. So I was dumbstruck when the first things done were to replace.. our Probowl QB.

And I'm an optimistic person. I always expect the Broncos to do better than they probably will, have been that way for over 20 years. But this year is going to be.. messy. If we win 6 games, I'll be honestly surprised. With our insane schedule, it's probably going to be much worse.

Ultimately, I believe the players were fine with him.... but I also believe he has a massively overinflated sense of self-importance. That's just not going to fly with a lot of coaches. MOST winning coaches, in fact.

Again, Terrell Owens is one of the most talented guys in the league. But, he's shuffled around year after year. Cutler isn't Owens, of course... but there's something to his personality that rubs people wrong, and now you're seeing it at its apex. (With this bratty behavior and obvious screwing of his teammates/fans.)

So, talent alone doesn't always get it done. Bill Parcells won a lot of games with QBs with average skills. Plenty of coaches have. Guys like Rivers, Rothlisberger and others may not have world-class physical tools, but they have enough... and they have championship intangibles. The jury is WAY out on whether or not Cutler has those intangibles.

TO and Cutler in Buffalo! I can totally see that. Those little douche bastards would probably be MADE for each other, and would end up sweeping past us and the Donks in some weird Karmic Mojo.

Speaking of QB talent.....the jury is still out whether McDaniels has the coaching talent and leadership to win in this league.....especially minus a pro bowl QB!

McDaniels may have the coaching leadership and talent like Romeo Crannel or Bob Wesis. Why so many fans are giving McDaniel's the benefit of the doubt given his young age of 32 and his mis-handling of the Cutler-Cassell trade, lends one to believe he's on a 3 year stay in Denver....then its back to the drawing board.

Point is, Belecheck's assistant coaches have yet to prove they can win as HC's in the NFL. The odds and Karma don't bode well for McDaniels.

Because there's no one in your entire organization with the brain power to sit at Don Pioli's deal table and not get completely ass-raped.

Jay,

I understand that I hurt our trust when I was caught sniffing around another man's yard. I wouldn't blame you if you never trusted me again. The truth is, me and Matt have a history together. It's hard for me just to turn off my love for him, even though I know in my head that you are better than him in every way. It's my heart that is the problem.

I remember watching Matt, as he bent over in the huddle, thinking to myself "what strong leadership, what commanding presence, what tight and supple buttocks." Those feelings just don't go away Jay.

But, what can I say, I got lost in a cloud of misguided feelings, and longing for Matt's strong hands caressing my fuzzy, tight playbook, while perfectly reciting the play I was up all night designing. His command of the scheme, his utter ability to lie down and take what I had to give him without offering up anything to the contrary is something hard to walk away from.

You, Jay, well your so manly with your gunslinger mentality and those 27 benchpresses at the combine. I guess I got intimidated that you would want more than I could give you. That simply dumping off the ball to a hb out of the backfield wouldn't be enough for you, because you are a warrior, a competitor, and that scares me, bubbles.

But, after the smoke has cleared, I realize that it was incredibly incredibly stupid of me to ever compare you to someone so beneath you. If you want to rifle that pigskin deep, forcing it in between two pulsating, muscle ripped cb's than I want to be there to receive it. I want to watch you pumping your fist back and forth in ecstacy aftet scoring another td.

I will lay down for you lover, if you come back. If you want to run the spread like a wild stud, than I will gladly take it, however strong those balls are thrown.

All day long, wearing a mask of false bravado
Trying to keep up a smile that hides a tear
But as the sun goes down, I get that empty feeling again
How I wish to God that you were here
Baby come back, any kind of fool could see
There was something in everything about you
Baby come back, you can blame it all on me
I was wrong, and I just can't live without you
Now that I put it all together
Give me the chance to make you see
Have you used up all the love in your heart
Is there nothing left for me?
Is there nothing left for me?

Actually, it's quite different. When Owens was simply a dude with a lot of talent, and 10 times as much ego, he was not swapped from team to team. They dealt with his prima dona attitude, because he produced. It's only once he started crap between players, and whined about how much he got the ball, and was poison in the locker room, that the shuffling started.

Jay has a fraction of Owen's ego. Yea, he is Favre'essque in his braggarty sort of way. And I personally am not thrilled with that. But the players all seem to like him, he does not start crap in the locker room. The QB buffet has been all but bare for the last 10 years. There isn't much there. Unless your team is major suckage, you don't get those guys. We finally get a franchise qb, and our new coach tries to trade him away.

It is what it is. I'll always be a Broncos homer, but man, this looks bleak.

Now, if McD can turn this team into a proven system that crushes opponents, I'll take back everything I said about the dork. But I think while he has done a solid job.. for what he was responsible for.. he was NOT the only brilliant mind on that team. There is this coach guy there that is kind of good as well.

So we'll see. I still think his priorities are all out of whack, and his method for going about his agenda has been very sloppy.

The point was simply that Owens is (has been) a top 5 WR, and can't help but run himself out of town. The lesson there is... it takes a lot more than talent.

I understand that. But he was traded because he was a detriment to the team. It is talked about all year long, and that was the result. In what way was Jay a detriment? Aside from his cocky comments about arm strength and so on (which I think were made tongue in cheek), what has he done to alienate the players? He has given his all, worked hard, and while he still makes mistakes, make no mistake.. he is a very solid talent.

Just makes no sense at all. We had gaping holes in our airplane, and the coach is swapping out suede seats for leather bucket seats.

And as for a note for Jay (first I would not beg because it is unbecoming and desperate, but I thought these lyrics courtesy of the BackStreet Boys was funny):

"Crawling Back To You"

Everybody knows that I was such a fool to ever let go of you
Baby I was wrong
Yeah I know I said we'd be better off alone
It was time that we moved on
I know I broke your heart, I didn't mean to break your heart
But baby here I am

Banging on your front door
My pride spilled on the floor
My hands and knees are bruised and I'm crawling back to you
Begging for a second chance
Are you gonna let me in?
I was running from the truth and now I'm crawling back to you

I know you're in there and you can make me wait
But I'm not gonna wait
It's the least that I can do, just to tell you face to face
I was lying to myself, now I'm dying in this hell
Jay I know you're mad, I can't blame you for being mad
But baby here I am

Banging on your front door
My pride spilled on the floor
My hands and knees are bruised and now I'm crawling back to you
Begging for a second chance
Are you gonna let me in?
I was running from the truth and now I'm crawling back to you

If you could see these tears I'm crying
Touch these hands that can't stop shaking
Hear my heart that's barely beating
You will see a different man

But baby here I am
Banging on your front door
My pride spilled on the floor
My hands and knees are bruised and I'm crawling back to you (come on)
Begging for a second chance
Are you gonna let me in? (let me in)
I was running from the truth, now I'm crawling back to you

Banging on your front door (darling)
My pride spilled on the floor
I was running from the truth, now I'm crawling back to you, yeah
Now I'm crawling back to you
Crawling back to you
Crawling back to you
Crawling back to you

to be spoken in the voice of any of your favorite OM Cutler apologists

Stop all the clocks
cut off the telephone
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin...
let the mourners come
Let the aeroplanes circle
moaning at dawn
Scribbling on the sky the message: He is Gone
Put crepe bows 'round the white necks of the public doves
Let traffic policemen wear black, cotton gloves
He was my North
my South
my East and West
My working week and my Sunday rest
My noon
my midnight
my talk
my song
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong
The stars are not wanted now
put out every one
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood
For nothing the Broncos do now can ever come to any good.
