Since it will take the miracle of all miracles to have Jay C as our starting QB for this upcoming season, I am sure that I am like most of the rest on this board who do not have that much faith in Chris Simms, especially a Chris Simms without good training camp competition. SIGN JEFF GARCIA ASAP and let the best man win.

I do realize that signing Garcia could adversely affect Cutler's trade value--but then again--when the team owner comes out and is quoted as saying "we may lose our starting QB" that certainly doesn't help us in that regard either. Quit pussy footing around and sign Jeff Garcia. Ashame it has come to this as I would choose Cutler over McD anyday, but since the choice is looking like we are keeping Josh....we should plan to go on without Jay.

Yeah, it's not as though Garcia was a productive QB as recently as 2007 or anything.....

Are you trying to infer something about which side of the plate he hits from? He remedied that by marrying a Playboy bunny........

No you fail as usual. Why pay Jeff Garcia when you can just give the money to JAy and have this all go away?

Garcia could be an excellent stop-gap. He's the sort of high efficiency player who should fit well in McDs system. He does not make a lot of mistakes (INT percentage has been around 1.5 the last three seasons...an excellent number) and is an accurate thrower. With our OL and receivers (even minus Scheffler) and I think he could do very well. Sign him and let him compete with Simms.

if they trade Cutler should they draft Stafford, Sanchez or Freeman

If we trade Cutler I may not renew my Sunday ticket for the first time in 9 years. I live for Bronco Sundays, but this season could be so bad...

I don't watch college football I just know that their the best qb prospects. So if they were over rated or flawed prospects I would know.

Worry about that fat turd Khalif Barnes protecting that equally useless fat turd JaMarcus Russell.

Sign him, i don't think they gafe him a fair look in Oakland and since Jordan will now be in the backfiels they know each other and I am predicting Championship.

Hell...with Garcia and Simms, they might as well fire McCoy and hire Kyle to be the OC so they can have a threesome.

I don't think Garcia is a good fit for the New England system. He's a smallish quarterback whose stature forces him out of the pocket easily. Look at Simms and Cassel (and Brady for that matter). These are all 6 foot 4 quarterbacks who aren't going to do a lot of running around in the back field. They hold their ground in the pocket, and try and get rid of the ball if it's not there. Trying to force Garcia to stay in the pocket is a recipe for turnovers.

I would like to see Jeff Garcia running the offense. I firey leader with the arm to make the throws and enough mobility to make plays (avoid sacks) with his feet.

Do it just for the eye candy at the games. I'm not sure we're going to have better reasons to watch.

It couldn't be much worse than a team who is 3 games in the lead with 3 games to go and misses the playoffs. At least Garcia has plenty of starting quarterback experience...

Garcia is a walking corpse. pass

He had a 12-6 TD/INT ratio this season and a QB rating over 90. Not the QB he was once was to be sure, but he's hardly a "corpse." He's certainly the sort of efficient, fiery QB who would make a solid stop-gap who you can win with while grooming a youngster.
